again, it's not like all the public places will be full of wild orgys. there are plenty of clean people who will buy land there and NOT be exhibitionists.

As for calling purveyors of pornography "perverts" I don't see how that's a big deal. Ask them, they'll happily tell you.

The point of Zoolander was to move all the extreme sexual and violent content.

Personally, I think that's what it should be, but the knuckleheads at Linden Lab Lindened the policy and definitions so badly, that a whole lot of less extreme content will be forced to move there. Businesses may be forced to move their non-sexual content to Adult regions simply to be able to advertise their Mature and Adult content.

We should see what actually end up there before any talk of banning or AR'ing child avatars is meaningful.

NO business is there yet. they haven't even begun the land swapping yet. your concern is quite premature and completely unnecessary, even tomorrow. if anything, you should be worried about what happens on the main grid TODAY! and i suspect a lot of the perverted behavior began when porn media met the grid. i wonder what perverts were behind that drive...

I did want to point that out though, just so it was clear. Policies towards child avatars have not changed. We still can't do the same things we could not do for the last two years, on Zindra or anywhere. We *can* do the same basic things we've done elsewhere on the grid.

I can be in public areas. I can go into privately-owned parcels and islands (within the rules of that particular landowner, of course). I can own land in any place and with any maturity level. What I *can't* do is be involved in sexual ageplay. I cannot make a place that is designed for sexual ageplay (for example, making a 'sex playground' or something like that). I cannot solicit for sexual ageplay. I cannot walk into someone's private parcel or sim - or SL public space, for that matter - and perform or solicit (or in some cases, appear to solicit) sexual ageplay.

Further, I cannot say that I am underage in my first Life (never minding that I am not underage in my first life). I *can* claim a RP age in Second Life, but that can end up causing some troubles with people who do not understand the difference between role play and first life actuality.

Anyway, that's all that. For myself personally, I've looked at Zindra, it has some nice architecture and is far from the "ghetto" people might have anticipated (One can argue that a golden cage is still a cage, of course, but I digress). The moles did some very nice work there, and I applaud 'em for it. There might be a couple other spots there I'll want to take a peek at, but the majority of my "Zindra time" will be up soon regardless of who is or isn't allowed there.

Facts. (^_^)

Fact: Child avatars are allowed to exist in SL. To identify as a child avatar one would need to depict themselves as a child. This is done be using a combination of diminutive size, child-like features, and a role play persona of someone of a young age. (^_^)

Fact: Depictions of sex are allowed to exist in SL. Most of it is self-explanatory. Through a combination of scripted pose balls, animations, and erotic attire (or a lack of). (^_^)

Fact: As stated in vague and difficult to find articles referencing an even more vague TOS/CS, we're currently not allowed to combine the two. Nothing more, nothing less. (^_^)

Fact: The Zindra continent exists to relocate defined and public "adult" content from the "mature" regions of mainland. While the defined "adult" content does contain and implicit depictions of sex, it's not limited to that scope. Other "adult" depictions, such as gore and violence, have been worded in the "adult" definitions. (^_^)

As far as the regulations go, there are no known documented restrictions on child avatars participating in this degree of "adult" content. In addition, the clarification of (sexual)ageplay regards the violation to be limited to the proximity to or use of sexual items such as poseballs. And, in doing so, would have to stay in the appearance and character of a child for the violation to exist. (^_^)

Nowhere is it worded that child avatars are barred from ALL "adult" activity including combat, violence, gore, and horror. (^_^)

Add to that: If someone buys a Zindra parcel and NEVER uses it for simulating or presenting sex, no violation can be claimed regardless of the avatars present. (^_^)y

after it's all built up, Mari, i think you'll see the same landscape the main grid displays. i don't think it will be quite the tawdry little public affair people are expecting (or hoping for). there are plenty of relatively straight laced people who will be forced to move their only so they can use their private sex bed in their private home, and won't spend any time exploring the nasty, dark side of SL.

i know this - it might seem like a good deal to get land there so you can run your business under adult titles, but only age verified people will be able to go. anyone on PG land can get ANY customer - verified or not - so i plan on staying put. i'll get more traffic, for sure!

The reason for Zindra is not about protecting kids. It's about LL protecting itself from criminal and civil law suits, by shifting the responsibility to it's residents.

When minors are caught on the adult grid and reported to law enforcement by their parents or guardians, LL will tell the judge "Hey, don't look at me, we took extraordinary measures to prevent it".

The resident could/might/will be flagged for endangering a minor. Even though they have no possible way of knowing.

The excuse "She told me she was 18" is no excuse in the eyes of the law.

Assuming any of those are actually classified as "adult". Unlike anything remotely sexual, violence appears to be at most Mature. As far as the search engine is concerned, as long as it's not sexual it's PG.
