Not exactly. Any public adult activities are forbidden on Mature land. Advertising is sufficient to qualify the activity as public, but not a necessary condition. And "advertising" has been defined very broadly to include any Search listing at all if the advertised activity turns out to include adult content (that is, the ad itself need not contain adult-only terms), and other non-Search forms of disseminating information (word of mouth, etc.).

I agree that there are some purely residential, purely private uses of Mature land, and it will still serve as a good enough substitute for PG when PG land isn't readily available. Yet all those things are also true of Adult land, but without the wacky restrictions.

When all is said and done, I would very much rather own only PG and Adult land. Instead I will have a lot of Mature stuff to dump on the market. I really don't think I'll be alone.

I think that's not only correct, but an understatement. It has been intentionally *hidden*. LL is just not that stupid to believe that Zindra will long remain all-smut-all-the-time, despite attempts to paint it as only for the most extreme deviants of sex and violence. They know full well that this is creating hundreds more sims of tier revenue, at the cost of further eroding the market value of existing Mainland.

Some people like to assume the worst, and will take all sorts of leaps to "prove" same.

Mature sims have the advantage of being the only sim type that isn't excluded if people untick that maturity rating in search.

You untick adult, you don't see adult sims, you untick PG, you don't see PG sims, you untick mature, you don't see parcels flagged as "Mature content" but you see all the other ones on mature land.

Hardly a fine selling point but mature sims will still be the majority player in the land market.

It doesn't MATTER what the Lindens think Zindra is for, there are too damn many people who bought Mature land when that meant "adult" just because they didn't want restrictions, who are right now porning up their land to get into the swap... NOT because they want to run a sex shop but simply because they want to continue to function in peace. These people will NOT allow Zindra to be a purely red light district.

Contrary to the opinion quoted, human behavior is actually capable of drawing and fixing upon bright lines that do not lie at either complete anarchy or complete tyranny. Not every attempt at regulating conduct is a slippery slope.

I think we can handle saying no to pedos and no to those who would traipse child looking AVs into areas where others are trying to engage in adult sexuality without descending into complete jack-booted thuggery.

So... I still stand by my view - a -lot- of problems would be solved if you could AR any child avatar outside of a PG zone. And doing so would not bring about the end of all creation.
