Well, that answers the "Do people still have forum access if their account is cancelled?" question. /smarmytone

Catherine... perhaps a break would do you good. You have a lot to say in the forums, and like me, you're passionate about SL being a creative place.

We all have different views of what SL will become, and LL is determined to make it the Metaverse. What does that mean? It means the Internet, where lots and lots of money is made. Yes, people are interested in making money. It's not wrong in itself, though it is wrong when it's all-consuming.

It's an aspect of people all over the world, by the simple fact that life is not fair. No matter where you may turn, you will find it.

SL, however, is THE most creative environment and community I have ever found. (I'm privvy to the NYC art scene, too, so that statement means something.) Fly around a bit. You see endless builds by people who, by and large, have no formal training in computer graphics. And, for the people who do, there are hundreds of terrific builds and items.

There are a number of us interested in forwarding creativity and not having to make oodles of money. That alone is better than the real world usually is.

Hear this from someone who doesn't particularly like it when you snipe at him, but cares enough about the spirit of creativity to speak out.

The person who bought this island for $150,000 is Keke Levy, in Eutopia, the same land-holding group as Catherine Cotton.

Keke has not had a very illustrious career in SL, it seems, with only a few points given for her building skills since she joined in August. She doesn't seem to have any interests or picks...except for the Christmas Island itself....

You can get so busy in SL and never get out!

She's done this before. Twice or three times, I believe.

My suspension of disbelief is muted, to say the least.

Do a bit of investigation as to who she sold the land too, as well.

You and I have had many disagreements in our time on the forums. You made the decsion to leave, so naming (and in turn blaming) the people for sucking out the last of your holiday spirit was a low-blow. As righteous as you can get, you didn't think for a minute that someone wouldn't call you on it, would you?

My disagreement with you was never that there wasn't a place for the creative type to exist in SL, but that there is room for EVERYONE, a thought that for some reason eluded you. Your argument of money=bad is just as one sided as creativity=bad. They both have thier place in SL, like it or not, but you couldn't see that, could you? I won't apologize for my comments, because I believe that making money and making beautiful things complement each other and are necessary for an environment like SL to succeed.

I'm sorry to hear you've decided to leave SL and hope in your new ventures you find what you're looking for.

Keke is not my alt but I did get her to join SL and I did teach her to build. She was kind enough to help me get out of SL when I wanted. I have never cancelled my account before but I did today truth be told Anne Bancroft was my alt and that account was also cancelled.

This does not invalidate the depth of emotion that she feels. Further, her probability of return is not related to the responsibility you have for your actions. If you did something to precipitate this you need to publicly address it and resolve it.

I don't want to see cyclic abuse in these forums, where people expect their victims to get over it and return, only to be subjected again to the same abuse.

This is an error. It is possible to state things which a undeniably factual in a way that can hurt people.

You should say instead that you will stand by your comments as something you believe in but apologize if they were presented in such a way that was upsetting.

I'm sorry, but I disagree. Cat and I are both passionate about our stands and as she would never apologize for her belief, niether would I.

I am sorry that she wasn't able to understand that money and creativity are not exclusive. I'm sorry because as a community, we've lost a great creator.

I understand and I agree with you. Personally, I find that monetary rewards help my creativity.

Yet, I think a few apologies is a small price to pay to get back a great creator. How about you?

Over the many arguments I've had with Cat on various topics, I have always apologized when I was proven wrong, or on the occassion I gave a harsh tongue lashing.

During the latest threads, I've been been mindful of keeping my tongue lashings to a minimum, and actually posted *less* than I would have if it would've been anyone else.

Many times in the past, I've swallowed the pride and extended the hand in a good gesture, but one can only do that so many times.

oh... and Goodbye Catherine, I hope your personality is better on KeKe!
