land angels group

I was curious about all this talk about the land angels group. I was suprized to find that of the 14 members there are some land barons in that group. The members list is like a whos who of the SL forums. A lot of what I have read in the past few weeks now makes a lot of sence. Those who have been the most vocal and insulting tword anyone against anyone in this group. What can I say to this new information?

catherine, we have never had ill words before. And although I *USED* to sell land for a profit i not longer partake in this.. not because the market slumped but because it became too dog eat dog and *some* people will lie cheat and steal to sell there land. But i guess thats just bussiness. The land angels group from what i have seen is on the up and up i have given away a few 1024 meter plots out of it for exchange for plots that are similar to 90 degree mountainside (prim land) so i cant really say that its to get prime land because from what i have seen it stays in the pool of land to be given out.

That maybe be the case for what you saw but when I see the same names in the same groups I have to take note. Especialy when the groups go on and on. Now I am not talking about things like Awaking Avatars.

Yet everyone is expected to believe that they are being kind hearted souls who are just helping out the less fortunate.

Not unless they are making a profit, as stated by other players in these forums.

I see nothing wrong with the charter of either of the two mentioned groups.

Because someone makes a profit, does that mean they can't do anything good? I MUST be missing something.

In a perfect world I imagine you could. Its not a perfect world. Given your agreement with one charter its pretty self explinatory. Again ppl are not as nieve as some would like to think. Your the one who associated your self with both groups, and from the outside looking in it definatly raised an eyebrow of suspision.

If I was a democrate I could not be a republican. Guilt by association? Perhaps, Your the one who agreed to the charters.

Thats a damn shame, the past few weeks have been a real damn shame. SL may be a game but what part of all this heartache has been fun? None.

If you realy expect me to believe some prerehersed story about how someone can screw over a community one min. and help it the next, then you are sadly mistaken.

Lets be real about this those in all those same very powerful groups knew exactly what they were doing when they joined them.

i agree completely! something must be done about player who buy land for 273 USD and then sell it three weeks later for 150k L$ = 600 USD. that markup exceeds 10% by ten fold!

Land can no longer be 'sold' by the player, you release the plot and it goes right back in linden labs pocket and back up for auction.

I thought the land baron group would be happy to get their mits on it. but but if you divide it up into 45, 512 m2 plots you can still break even.

Catherine, normally I would agree with the issues you are raising but the fact that you are indeed doing the same thing invalidates any of your complaints with land barons.

You were called on it. You chose to call Jauani a troll twice before actually admitting it. I don't understand your logic behind bashing the land barons and then going out and doing the same thing.

I hate drug dealers, but are you going to see me selling in an alley somewhere just because I can make a profit?

I'm not saying land baroning is on the same level as dealing drugs, just a moral analogy.

You cannot lash out against land barons and then turn around and do what they do, at a markup that even exceeds whay they usually use.

I wish I were in the financial situation to be a land baron. I doubt there are few people in this game that, separated from the drahma, in private wouldn't mind being a "land baron". I really wish one of the land barons would "open up their books" to let me see how it works and what kind of money they are really making, maybe one of the land barons should start a class or something. I'd pay if it was good solid info.

One plot of land does not a land baron make. Besides do you know how much US $ I paid for my land? No. Do you know if I am making a profit? No.

Therefore your listening to heresay and not to fact. They are good at side tracking issues like this. Been there done that.

I put my lot up for sale for my own reasons. Apples and Oranges.

Selling one plot is not nearly the same.
