To say I am disenchanted with some of the people in these forums is something of an understatement.

Candie Apple, Catherine Cotton - isn't it about time you started looking around for another vulnerable woman to attack?

The asshats have to have someone to pick on... don't they? Personally I see Catherine's point, I have wanted to vanish so many times, but then I think hell no! not giving in to them will just annoy them more

My neg ratings comes from her and her alt. Out of the blue, and of course without any comments as to why. I've never had any dealings with her at all.

I returned the negs asap, and she went ballistic. To me, she has just been a griefer, both on the forums and in-world.

IMO, Passionate people is good for SL, fanatics are not.

Negging is not griefing. It's a system for rating people. However, the reason its totally worthless as a system is because of people like you who neg rate in retaliation. Ever think to ask her why? She might have had - or thought she had - an excellent reason. But no.... you just abuse the system and give her a triple back.

Expressing your views on forums, even if no one agrees, is not griefing. Though some would like you to believe that any view contrary to theirs is wrong. It's just SL'ers seem to be more self righteous than most. Like the people who have to come into threads like this just to get a final kick in.

Get the facts straight, please. I asked, and she claimed I was responsible for uglyfying Ross. I dont own anything in Ross. She was quite abusive in her language too. And I didnt triple neg back before she triple negged me with her alt two days later

And btw, IMO, telling people to STFU in the forums is griefing.

Catherine..I get attacked all the time..sometimes I stand alone..people are gonna agree and disagree..especially with contreversial topics I bring here. And yes I am human, and I get a bit angry at times myself..I just try to tactfully rebutt what is slammed in my face. You have the advantage here..you can think about what you type before you type it as opposed to actually facing someone verbally in real time. Use that to your advantage. You think I don't get attacked for my beliefs? LOL. Look at my Signature. If someone doesn't agree with you..state your point..rebutt..show them a mirror and be tactful and sly in correlation to guildlines. Stand up for what you believe, and don't let anyone make you leave SL because of what you believe.

Actually I made similar experience. Catherine did things that are wrong or that hurt people. Moonshine has all right to mention.

However, I also think Catherine need help. I don't think Catherine is bad person. I think she is confuse and her own enemy, see ghost and doom and problem where there is nothing. Her idealism speak high for her character and could be asset for community if it would be matched by logic, which is something I hope Catherine will grow towards in future. But no matter, Catherine is one of us and is unhappy. She belong to us and deserve hugs and love and nice feeling.

Out of the blue huh? Don't just attack someone..back it up..if you can't back it up with proof..don't bother, because it is here-say and Irrelevant. Because what you say..one may interpret as "Out of the Blue".

I'm amazed everyone has so much time to bitch at each other. Really, it's not worth it folks!

I know Moonshine as one friendly, honest and honorable person. I would never expect he try twist fact or attempt hurt somebody. If you want help Catherine you will not do her favor by post about Moonshine. I feel she rather need our friendship, understanding and good advice.

I don't think SL is good for you, Catherine. At one point I hadn't seen you on the forums for a while, and I hoped it was because you'd found another focus for your considerable energy. Then you returned and quickly escalated to "stfu about money". I see a self-destructive pattern here. You build up your own vision of SL to an unrealistic degree, then get disappointed and angry, then you incite people, then you feel vicitmized by them, then you say you're leaving, and then you return, and the cycle starts over. I won't lie, you've pissed me off at times with your insinuations against people and the . But I haven't wished you harm, and I think you're making the right decision if you really leave.

I do not believe in Negative Ratings..I do not condone it on anyones part. You are a mirror of your own Image. Negative Ratings are just a tool of retaliation and insult.

This is a general statement..not aimed at any one individual. This is my opinion.

Well I'm glad you like Moonshine. But firstly, no offence, but your endorsement of Moonshine means very little to me. I don't know either of you. And secondly, I was just responding to someone who takes the time to come into someone's farewell thread to give them a bit of a kicking when they're down, labelling them 'fanatics' and spinning a one sided story about neg ratings. And giving my opinion of their actions regarding petty retaliatory ratings.

And thirdly, and evidently much like yourself, I care not a jot what anyone else thinks of me or what I do. I wasn't trying to do anyone a favor by posting.

Hey Catherine. Before vilifying me in public, go back and reread my posts. I never chimed in about your feelings of money and it's roll in SL. I DID reply to several incredibly bigoted and myopic statements you made about REAL PEOPLE who are impoverished. I found this offensive.

Other than that, I have never said one harsh word to you. So next time you decide to project your inability to deal with public discourse onto a select few, make sure you have chosen the fricken appropriate targets.

I don't think it was a good idea for Cat to name anyone, frankly. But one thing I have learned is that you can't tell people what should or shouldn't offend them... it frequently amazes me what people will manage to be offended by.

Of course, people who dish it out also need to be able to take it, and in a lot of cases, people here say the most outrageous things and yet its the ones who pick up on them and say something back that get busted on.

I've had more than my share of forum run ins with Cat on some subjects... including a relatively long 'why people treat you like you do' post to her. And when I've agreed with her I've supported her. In fact, with Cat, I've often found myself hopping from thread to thread posting an agreement in one and having a bit of a dig in another

I know a lot of people will blindly support or bash a particular person because of who they are, but for me it's entirely down to what they say, and I don't care who they are!

It's probably a healthy thing for her if she really leaves. She has been totally out of control on the forums lately, accusing everyone of an obsession with money, when it seems it was in fact her obsession. I found her to be a total hypocrite.

It saddens me that she truly seems hurt by all of this. That I do not wish on anyone here, but I feel that this change is better for her health and better for these forums. If possible Catherine, go spend some time with family or friends for the holidays. Good luck.
