Yes, I almost ran over Catherine too with the bike due to lag but with the 4 defense shield boxes out near her I chose not to speak. I also didnt know about this thread.

Catherine, We have had our differences in the past. When you come back we will have them in the future I am sure but that is the total opposite personalitys we emplore and will always be such.

I have come to accept that when you hit your high point of rage and flustration your going to snap as at times your unbending. However, it does pain me as once we were very close friends to see you in such a dismal state. I remember a time when you were peppy and significantly optimistic and your out look was much brighter. I am sincerely sorry that you are back in the state of leaving and disgust.

I have known you off and on for over 2years now this time of the year is extremely hard on you as well as the spring. Take a needed break Cat, SL will always be here I think you see that with its ferver to fight and claw to stay afloat.

I will leave you with something my best friend in the whole world told me.

You cannot be held responsible for anyone elses happiness for that is their path to follow. Yet the token of return is you cannot hold any one else responsible for your happiness as your happiness is dictated by you and you alone.

A partner,friend or aquaintence is there to accompany you on your path for a brief time. But, they are not there to lead you down it or tell you how things will transpire.

That brief moment in time be it a minute a day a life time will pass and you will be back to relying on yourself.

Remember you environment and work doesnt define you, you define all that is around you by your presence.

By your leaving sl you are leaving a mark upon it.

But the question is?

Is it truly the mark you want to leave?

Take Time Cat and evaluate things maybe the concerns you are placing on things are more trivial than you intially percieve. If you still feel as strongly and passionate about some of the topics and are ferverently fighting against them in your own mind you have the choice to return and endure or to stayaway and ignore that is your decision to make not anyone elses.

Your choice to leave is yours and yours alone. But I emplore you to be sure that by the method that you are leaving is it how you truly want people to remember you.

I have no clue what you all are talking about, cause I'm just one of the little people.
However, I just wanted to say that

(1) Neg rating without an explanation or a chance for the offender to explain is griefing, and griefing of the worst sort. A neg rating can't be removed the way a ban can. If I want to check out someone's neg ratings, I look at ratings given, not ratings received.

(2) Putting up insulting signs makes the creator of the signs look bad, not the name that happens to be spelled out in the sign. That is so obvious, I can't even imagine someone trying to retaliate in this way.

(3) How does anyone else's approach to SL interfere in any way with other people being able to do whatever they want? That I truly do not get.

It's usually the case that people with bipolar can't see it, and they can become incredibly aggravated when you tell them this. And if someone isn't bipolar, it's especially annoying to be told to "get help". Maybe the "get help" that they got is playing this game?

And in a game like this where people are anonymous, how can you really compare them to RL experience and make a diagnosis?

We're all dressing up little dolls in here and playing with blocks -- or worse -- and we're supposed to be adults. Don't we all need help?

I think you are all missing the point that Catherine has enacted a great play here forcing everyone to think, justify their actions -- it's a great performance!

She's obviously upset. What is the point of pointing out that this has happened before. If you think it's a valuable community service, it's not. If you're trying to show how jaded you are, well done. If you hate drama, stop feeding it, unless it does in fact give you some sick joy to instigate and provoke.

If she's obviously upset, say something nice or leave her alone. Save the armchair psychoanalysis for your RL patients.

My personal experience with bipolar person was in Second Life, not RL experience. So in my case it is SL experience I compare with SL experience. I am not doctor and I might be wrong. But even if only have suspicion should be enought to give Catherine one break.

This is the first time in 18 years of marriage that I have been alone at Christmas time. My husband is in the middle east, he is a contractor and I'm sad, depressed, upset. I didn't need anyone kicking me while I was down. I didn't need to be pushed any futher emotionaly. I was pushed beyond my limits. I'm sorry it's not the drama your looking for. It's just my life.

That must be why, after catherine "cancelled" her account, she transferred the land to Keke, a person who, since August, doesn't seem to belong to much except a land holding group and a handful of ratings.

After Keke apparently "cancelled" her account in this thread, I got curious and went over to Ross.

Hey look! Ross is now under the tutelage of one "Catherine Cotton!" And those signs, bless them, are now in OTHER people's land! Oh, the humor. And the land is for sale, again, of course, for the original sale price of $L150,000 lindens. $$$ sigh money, etc.

Huh. Coulda swore cancelled accounts can't hold land.

But hey, what do I know? I'm just a Christmas hating troll who gets his name put up on a sign, proclaiming that I did the spiritual equivilent of spitting on Baby Jesus's face.


Once again, this is all elaborate stagecraft. Catherine will be back in, oh, about 2 months or less, apologizing, waiting for the "welcome back" posts, and making something else on some more land somewhere else.

Awesome post Blaze, and I agree. I appreciate the passion that Catherine has shown for her viewpoints on SL as a whole, even though I do at times disagree with them. Regardless of any disagreements I have had with her ideaologies (which have been surprisingly few), I would rather have 10,000,000 Catherines in-world than the typical impassionate flock of sheep (back off schwann, not talking about your sheep).

Stay around Catherine! We need some more punk-rock in SL
