You know, I find it very interesting that you immediately chose "ALT" over "New Player" as the explanation for Teddy Kennedy's stats. Is SL becoming so insular that nobody believes in new players anymore? Well, you can certainly expect a decrease in new players once word gets out about how poorly administered SL is.

I've had my account for a few months now and recently I had been thinking about upgrading my membership, buying some land, and building a wilderness area to counterbalance all the damn megamalls. However, when people are being suspended without even an explanation (beyond "For Doing Bad Things", and apparently only at the whim of certain influential SL members (or more likely just overly bitchy ones that the Lindens placate just to get them to shut up), I cannot justify putting any money or effort into SL since it seems that it may be arbitrarily yanked away for no good reason. I'll still play but honestly this has a chilling effect on me as a member of the community.

I think what bothers me most is LL's silence on this matter. I think it would be better in the long run if all punishments and the reasons for them were made public so they could be discussed openly and scrutinized. Otherwise, people begin to have doubts about the system itself, as I have.

And, since it is very clear that people here think ad hominem is something you sing in church, I should state that I have not ever been suspended or, as far as I know, reported for any bad behavior and have received no neg ratings (though the latter may be because I tend to avoid crowds). I, like several others in W-Hat that I have spoken to, am starting to think that users who are known to have accounts at SomethingAwful.com are being discriminated against. Which, I have to say, is a totally fucking stupid marketing move, given the size and demographics of the SA Forums membership.

Yay for the above post. Im not sure how many people know this, but im not the only old timer with an SA account. Huns Valen, beta member and one of the lead members of kaznojin, is a SA goon. Torley Torgeson, while not an old timer, certianly a big name, is an SA forum lurker (has an account, but doesnt post). Ferran Brodsky is a SA contributor (sends photoshops to lowtax and such, but doesnt have an account). Those are just three "big name" players in second life. I hope LL sees just how many people are SA goons.

There is a reason that sometimes it takes a while for them to address and implement discipline and it's yet to be answered why these "mimes" singled out the furry and collectively neg rated people, which is against the rules.
