Just a boring sphere, you will say, but no.... It's actually a heavily truncated dodecahedron with 960 visible triangles, quite good LOD-proofing and avoiding shading artefacts, that allows me to tile the surface with textures as shown. No distortion at the poles because there aren't any! OK, I know you can use a suitably distorted texture to achieve a similar effect on a standard sphere, but I like this much better and it makes it much easier, just drag the texture onto it!

Keira and Ponk: awesome, awesome work! Here's a preview of some lion avatars I'm working on. All sculpts, except for the body:

Here's a snapshot of a wakizashi (short samurai sword) that I'm trying to find the time to actually finish: And here's a couple of a knife that I recently completed (actually finished something, yay me!): .

Wonderful work, Amael! Mind if I ask what your workflow was?

From: Virrginia Tombola Wonderful work, Amael! Mind if I ask what your workflow was? Thanks Virrginia- I'm sorry but my workflow is going to have to be a trade secret It's taken me considerable time and effort to create sculptures like the above, but, once I'd figured out a system (i.e. made all of my mistakes), I realised that it's not actually THAT hard to recreate what I did... i.e. it only takes time and diligent work rather than inspired leaps of genius-ness. It is because of that fact that I'm staying silent on exactly how I make my sculptures- I figure it's only a matter of time before others realise/figure out what I did and I'd like to stay ahead of the market curve for as long as possible

Wow... this thread needs more people! Now! Not a particularly efficient creation, uses 5 sculpts and one box, but I didn't feel like really spending a ton of time on it... didn't even make a proper face xD Sculpts: 1 - Decor on top 1- Head piece 1 - Cabinet 1 - Pendulum and weights 1 - Base Box - glass for front. One of these days, I'm actually going to spend more than 20 minutes on something, and get a real project going >.< Someday.

From: Amael Juran Giving a much needed jolt of life into this thread with my latest creation: Stop posting here >.< ! My alt discovered your lovely sculptures and wants to amaze all her friends with having discovered you! Oh all right, I guess its OK if other people buy your gorgeous art. *wanders away grumbling* By the way, do you have any plans to make any different faces for your ladies? Strix: very very nice! Do you have a store? You can put the URL in your signature, and it will even show up on your old posts *hint hint*. Check out "User CP" in the toolbar at the top of this page.

cYo - Sculpties with editable textures
10-30-2009 21:22
cYo (Create Your Own…) makes sculpted prims with matching textures. The textures are editable. The textures are delivered as 1024 x 1024 psd-files. You can edit them in a graphical program like Photoshop or Gimp. You can change the colours, add patterns, affix a logo, overlay some text, and so on. Examples for fashion shops:
