Mmmm.... that, and fish and chips, and Guinness were the 3 best food items in Ireland.
Sacrilege! Did you not partake of a full Ulster Fry?

Pep (Black *and* white sausage on top of the usual bacon, fried bread, eggs . . . )

PS We'll say nothing of the omission of a drop of the native hard stuff - you probably forgot you drank it!

That swearing is me - yeah sorry about that. I am outspoken and if I wasnt in my real career I wouldnt have a job prolly. So it comes over here. Sorry if I hurt feelings. I am really very blunt and didnt mean a "personal" offense. I use f**k every few words.

I gotta go out. So best of luck to the poster. But please please please in all seriousness dont condemn women who simply cant see a baby as a means to become more woman. It just gets me all SCRINCHY when I hear that a person must express more maternal feelings even in a virtual world. But Oryx - I dont even have a pet. I travel too much for one. Apologies. I honestly should just stay away from forums. Its just NOT my scene and I just seem to get Frizzled.

Jig,
I don't have kids. Never will. I'm a woman. I understand what you're saying about a baby as a means... but honestly, Jig, we ARE in the 21st century here. Probably 99% of the women in this forum have the right to vote, earn a living at a decent job, divorce their husbands, etc. Many of us have lived in places or times where that wasn't always acceptable, or even possible. Reproductive freedom, at least in the Western world, means that any woman, anywhere, can basically choose when to procreate. WE GET THIS. We don't need someone "scrinching" for us when we DO choose to procreate.

/me makes a note to send an email to the Greek Government warning them that they have a copyright fight with Californian cheese makers on their hands.

Pep (Is that Mexican Roquefort perhaps?)

No. And Roquefort, we use as salad dressing. lol

THIS IS THE POST OF YEAR! LMAO! Not too thrilled with the Terminator either.

But, btw, we have real home made food in California. I asked about gravy in can for stupid french fries because that's a lot of work to put a house wife thru. Any of you men make the gravy?

I occasionally make the whole sunday lunch.

Pep (My wife doesn't make proper gravy. Too thin. The gravy that is, not my wife.)

They only deport people that might embarrass the native population by drinking more than them . . .

Just salt for me. I hate that vinegar stuff with fish and chips. icky!

And btw, there isn't a big business for English food restaurants in Los Angeles and I haven't heard of people flocking to English restaurants to dine out. It's mostly Italian, Mexican (since we border Mexico, we get authentic, not gringo stuff), Chinese, Thai, Indian, or just a great seafood or steak restaurant. No English restaurant menus on my frigde? Weird, huh?

We have hardly any English restaurants in England.

Pep (I am not English by the way)

You just might find a weird one. =^-^=

I want to adopt you, Immy, but only if you're completely evil.

I don't want any of that half-assed evil out of you, young lady.

Back on topic. Having a SL child is not like having a real child. If you have a real child you are a parent 24/7. Not so on SL.

However, it's still a commitment to take on a foster child on SL and a person being a child may not have had a happy childhood or may even never have had one parent, let alone two.

I'd say, it's not for me because I don't know what kind of emotional baggage is attached to the rl person nor would I believe I could fix it or even should try. Sometimes things do more damage than good.

What's going to happen when you say "goodbye" for instance because rl is calling and needing you?

If you place your order before Christmas, I come giftwrapped and ready to be placed under the tree. =^-^=

Immy ( Marianne and just about anyone else who saw me over the weekend know exactly what I'm referring to. (^_^)y )

Me again. Pep's in his jammies snoring away (dreaming of me, no doubt) so I can rest assured he wont stretch his brain to try and be coy with me. He's so cute when he gets snotty. I suggest we all recognize that these adoptees are NOT real kids. Therefore we really cant take the role-play that seriously regardless of their past lives. In fact we may be treading on dangerous ground if they do need counselling and being "adopted." Its a "cri de coeur" I'm sure. I think Avawyn (cant get my lips round the name and that is a first for me) may have a point. This type of thing can do much more damage than we realize. I have a question about kids in sl - are they mainly all adopted or are there islands of these people liek there are theme sims for other people? I really know very little about the child avats in sl.

I think you are taking the whole subject of child avs too seriously. If two or more consenting adults have fun living out a SL fantasy, regardless of its nature (assuming it is lawful) then there is no further examination of that needed and no harm done to anyone.

type adoption under search> places

I do recommend anyone giving adoption advice in SL knows at least the minimum about it :)
