Members of Congierge chat are helping out the inworld team with chats, so the inworld team can focus on the Zindra tickets. So apparently they are trying hard to get through the tickets, but since mine is from about 1:26 PM, it won't be soon for my parcel to arrive

The Governance Team is a rogue enforcement group - they do as they please. Each branch of Linden Lab says they have no idea what the other group is doing (denialbility). So if Jack says that they are not enforcing the New TOS rules on Mature Land, the Governance Team can say they had no idea they were suppose to wait.

This is the song Linden Lab will sing after more than half the population find out they missed the boat. We are aware because we read blogs and forums and pay attention to the MOTD. Remember LL removed the Zindra MOTD in one day. For something this important - this sweeping policy change that effects the entire grid..Linden Lab is obligated to send an e-mail to every customer. I have dropped by many adult Business' on the mainland - and they have no idea what I am talking about. I do not think the August missed-the-boat grumbling will 'go away'. Also think of it this way..it has been going on for months....months...how would you like to wait in line for months...take months to get your teeth looked at, etc. I mean wading thruit all even those in the know get tired I know I did. I stopped erally monitoring progress months ago. Infact the only real contact I had was sindy for the longest time. Also yes many do not know. I've talked to about...50 friends about Zinda and I hear them say "bless you". In some ways seems kinda ironic now...I need all the blessing I can get it seems. |

I agree with you for the most part- But I'm afraid that SL is too blunt an instrument to provide too many shades of sexuality in its content ratings. There could be a consensual/non-consensual divide, or LL could simply say that there was no room for non-consensual sex of any kind on mainland, and then the activity would be restricted to private estates. However, one thing gets in the way of this. with the exception of push effects, orbiters, and the like, *all* animations in SL must have the consent of the animated, and there is a ready method of escape available in the "teleport home" function. Thanks, Valerius, for a very thoughtful response. I agree with most of what you said, but would just want to add one thing: that my own primary concern is not with whether a simulated rape (for instance) actually IS consensual or not. I would, unless given good reason to think otherwise, assume that it is. Rather, I am concerned about the DEPICTION of nonconsensual sex. In other words, even if it IS consensual, it is representing an act of violence of a sort all too common directed, 9 times out of 10, against a woman. So, it's really about how that might reinforce horrendous social attitudes about violence against women, rather than whether an ACTUAL "rape" is occurring. But, yes. No one said this was a simple issue. _____________________

I just spoke to a land owner who was told if he wanted double prim, he had to cut his claim in half... I know of no one else who was told this, and know for a fact that people have been getting full trades of double prim for their mainland holdings. He says Sejong Linden handled his ticket.
My ticket should be up any time now... getting very stressed waiting. |

Just saw that my second full sim choice has a 9000 meters bite out of it, two whole minutes more into tickets and maybe a few out of the 70 between that one and mine. Does LL offer counseling for those needing it? If it's any consolation, we *knew* this would happen with their process: (JIRA Issue MISC-2727 Discussion summary) 3) New Adult regions and mainland continent relocation has problems: e) First come, first served move plan will result in inefficient layout. Small parcel moved first will block later larger ones. First mover can claim desirable waterfront or other features, or claim center of region default landing point, making it impossible for later movers to receive equivalent land to their previous mainland. Anyone who accidentally misses the start of the land grab will get the worst parcels. |

Ticket number was 459, I updated the slapt.me wiki.. also got double prim in Sondraman. I have been told there will be no more new double prim in the new areas added, but that was the from the same guy who was told that he had to cut his request in half if he wanted double prim, so who knows if the info he was told is at all right.

(Part of this divide derives from the fact that feminism tends not to think of sexual violence as "sex" at all, but rather as a form of violence intended, amongst other things, to force submission and repression.) Where I think we part ways (speaking just for myself, here), is that you view some (or all?) BDSM content as depictions of violence or non-consensual sex, whereas I view it as depictions of RL BDSM acts. Plenty of people engage in sado-masochistic roleplay in RL too, including lots of feminists who of course abhor violence, sexual or otherwise, against women (or men). BDSM is not violence, even the SM part  Another thing I don't think we agree on is whether BDSM is a sexuality, or at least part of a person's sexuality, along with being gay, or straight, or whatever. I believe that it is, whereas I get the impression you don't think it is, that as soon as "violent" roleplay is involved, it ceases to be sex somehow. If BDSM is a sexuality, then it is a valid excercise to go through a paragraph like this ... To be more precise, then, I think that where we might part ways would be with the "throw-the-baby-out-with-the-bathwater" definition of "adult." A "safe" area needn't be sex-free; there is no one that I've met in the SLLUFN who is very interested in "PG" as it is currently defined. Rather, a "safe" area should allow one to pursue whatever pursuits one wishes, including sex, while not having to be exposed to images of VIOLENT sexuality. As it stands now, someone who wants to express her sexuality, but wishes (for whatever reason) to avoid depictions of violent sexuality, is out of luck. Simulations of both consensual and nonconsensual sex have simply been lumped in together. It's a ham-fisted approach to defining human sexuality that serves no one, I suspect. From this perspective anyway (and I do have OTHER objections to LL's approach as well), things would have been much better had LL allowed depictions of consensual sex to remain in "Mature." ... and replace the words "violent" and "nonconsensual" with the word "gay" and the word "consensual" with the word "straight". But we already did that in another thread. There's nothing wrong with wanting vanilla-only venues and regions, but I agree with this ... ... But I'm afraid that SL is too blunt an instrument to provide too many shades of sexuality in its content ratings. Mainland of any type will never be a "predictable" experience - that's just its nature. Estate land (which makes up the majority of SL land) is the logical place for a more fine-grained experience, whether you want vanilla-only, BDSM-only, some particular subset of BDSM-only, gay-only, straight-only, Gorean ... I would be surprised if there are not already lots of "safe", vanilla-only estate regions for you to explore. If not, well, you obviously have a strong idea of the sort of community you want to build, so you could start your own. _____________________
