LL aren't by any means a professional outfit. We know this and have seen examples of it time and time again.

Yet you guys persist.

OMG this is so depressing. For some it will be an upgrade for free, that is TOTALLY fair. I shudder when I remember what I paid for my protected beach mainland.
BT

Here's a photo of the beach section from a friend's build.
Yes. The square metres did cost a lot, and she's a good builder.
She only got her ticket finished 30 minutes after opening due to a glitch.

That will all look great in the interior of Zindra, and we're going to have some issues sailing from the beach into the ocean.

Meanwhile, the prims from inland Hell are beginning to crap on waterfront.

There are probably 1,000 variables.

Maybe they are allocating smaller parcels first.

The point is, they clearly stated it would be first come, first served, this has turned out to be a complete lie!!

If that is the case, then why am I willing to pay 30K for a piece of digital art work? I am so sorry to realize that I am truely insane

If I accidentally called one view "right" and the other "wrong" then forgive me for my error. I simply meant to say what /I/ think and tried to indicate that LL probably thinks that same way.

So far it has taken them 13 hours to process the first 3 minutes of tickets (approx 30 tickets completed, or 5% of the initial rush).

The queue will continue to grow until the rate of ticket submission gets below the rate of ticket processing, and new tickets are open for three weeks. I would not be at all surprised to see a two week backlog for people who did not get in by the initial rush. This makes the total Zindra "First wave" duration:

3 weeks tickets open + 2 weeks queue depth + 2 weeks move time, so basically end of August to see what a full Zindra looks like.

If people who submitted tickets later than the first 36 minutes could post to the tracking page, that will help us know how this is going along.

That's because we're too stupid/cheap/attached to this to just write off our investment and walk away - yet.

That day will come. I'm looking forward to it as I'm almost at the stage I can leave without a backwards glance but more so just to see how many of those who have been complaining all these years actually go. It's a bit like the hot air that's been spouted on the AC threads down the months.. Enough hot air to heat a small city and pretty well zilch in the way of positive action.. heh, that's sl for you.

But then someone would still be upset and claim that ticket was behind them, or try to find out where that parcel is being filled and go yell at the Linden there and/or the landowner there...people get really uptight about land.

They've assured they WILL get to everyone and that there will be plenty of land, so I'm not sure what's the rush...lost business obviously, but, surely no one thought an entire continent could be filled in a few hours, and all the puzzle pieces strategically put into place?

Clarissa,

it is clear either your a Linden alt, trying to calm people or a blondie alt trying to do your usual ignore the facts and act like everyone is happy and agreeing with your plans.

1 - Tickets are not being done as promised in order filed. Lindens lied to us.
2 - It is clear that some avatars got special treatment. Most likely Linden Alts or their friends.
3 - This is a business to many of these people and this is costing them money.
4 - This mess may lead to a hell of a lot of legal mess down the road based on how this is going so far and how people have been treated through this whole mess.

Lindens can't even live up to their own promises.

Wait... *which* ticket from 10:04 do we know is completed?

(I'm not questioning its existence, I'm just having trouble keeping track of anything that's not on the slapt.me wiki, and trying to find that "smoking gun." And, admittedly, trying to get some sense of whether to expect my 10:05 to process today.)

Oh, okay. So I thought we hypothesized that this one was a special case because somebody took the initiative of processing the "correct" ticket type in sequence of the "wrong" ticket that was submitted. Which sucks for those of us who puzzled too long over wtf a "Custom Ticket" might be, but it's not entirely unjustifiably unfair, either.

(not "my" wiki, but I know what you mean.)

It may be some people had multiple parcels on one ticket.

KB6345:

"What if I have multiple parcels with adult content?

You can choose multiple parcels on Zindra to move to. If you want to consolidate them into one large parcel, that's fine too! You can put all the information into one ticket."

OUr group *had* to do that. we have an odd size and we were trying to fit it into another set of odd sizes without bumping into the next tier level.

I wasn't easy- which is why I listed ten choices rather than three.

Hopefully that won't cause them to bounce it because it's too complex or something. :(

Plus the time wasted when the ticket was spat back because the 'did you check KB' and the 'comments box' were not completed despite irrelevant as it seems every second counted...

I would have thought that they would do it like a dating software - ask us a bunch of questions (business type, roadside, beachfront etc.) and then match us to the data about the parcels they have available.

the problem is that Zindra is so uninspired landscaping and build-wise, that there simply *is* no land that matches what we are leaving behind. You can't ask for something like what you left if it isn't there to ask for.

In person those satin boxes on the peninsula really look like temp parcel markers. The dome thing in the middle looks like the real building, up close it really looks like it could end up looking Zindra-ish.

Thats because they went about this bass-ackwards. If they had taken tickets first, and *then* designed Zindra, they could have made things match:

"Ok, we need 42 sims of waterfront, 30 of mountain, etc......"

(at least to the extent of general terrain type, an exact match of parcel shapes would not really be possible)

At least that way they would have gotten an idea of how many roads they need, rather than the sucky sim straddling ones they put in. I fell in the river just trying to walk across one of the bridges, cause the sim boundaries are right in the middle of it

They should have consulted more with us on Zindra's "look", landscaping, and topography. In fact they should have taken tickets for a time period and then assigned the swap land -biggest to smallest, to make sure that the large landholders got their swap before the little parcels messed up the whole sims by sticking a 512 right in the middle of it.

there are *so* many ways that this could have gone better- hell a simple list of tickets in numerical order- so that people can look at the list and see how long it will be before LL gets to them. Sigh- whatta revoltin' development!

Ticket Description
Summary: land swap
Region Name: emery, delilah, flo

Did you check the Knowledge Base?: No, I did not check the Knowledge Base
Preferred Language: English
Details: I seem to have lodged my land swap request in the wrong place. Hopefully this is the right one now.. sorry about that.

here are my details:
land to swap:
Emery: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Emery/195/172/81 22528sqm (group: Satiated Desires)

snipped for brevity.

seems that by following what LL said we disadvantaged ourselves because LL didn't really mean for us to do what they asked.

So I've just lodged a general ticket and referenced it to the swap one yesterday. We'll see what happens

Look on the bright side...

At least you guys are getting a swap at all.

They could have made everyone buy in at auction. :(

Funny, that's actually a reasonable idea. If anyone had seriously suggested it at the beginning it might have actually happened. Instead all we heard from the anti AC crowd was a bunch of cry baby whining and obviously impractical suggestions that were never going to get implemented.

* Edit: Maybe they can still do it with the remainder of the continent. I can clearly see there'll be no room left for the parcels I requested. Hopefully they'll roll out more sims and set my renters up on them.

It was suggested, along with a number of other ideas that would have been better that this wretched plan. We haven't spent the last 4 months just flapping our gums, y'know. there was a *lot* brainstorming going on- and some whining, of course :)

Anyway, we have made *many* suggestions that could have made this easier. LL has not listened to any of them. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for them to implement this idea.
