From: Lindal Kidd Chris too. Even our Resident Android. Although Winter is mighty broad across the shoulders and about eight feet tall...
And every one of you is SOOO much more attractive than the V-shaped mannequins muscling their bulging way around the place.
Don't change, boys...we love you the way you are, "idealized a little" and sexy as as hell. Well, except for Michael...he's handsome in a mechanical sort of way, but I'm not sure "sexy" quite fits him... I found him sexy, but I'm . . um, never mind. Oh . . I guess I should complete this thought, since someone might get the wrong impression considering the thread title. "I found him sexy, but I" am a Gynoid. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gynoid

From: Lexxi Gynoid Heh, actually I see so many in RL wearing that look who . . .um . . do not have the body for it in RL. Yeah, every day at Walmart. Coincidentally, Walmart is also the place to go if you start having an insane biological urge to have children. Stops that urge dead in its tracks.

I guess next time I log in I'm going to "muscle down" some more. I thought I had done that before but after actually meeting some other guys with other shapes I see I've still got work to do. I don't want to be looked at in RL and am just learning to tolerate it in SL

You two run along and have fun. I need to just reinstall my AO and my OS and reboot my system...

From: Shep Planer For me Slutty does not equal attractive. I think its sad that women feel they need to wear nothing but a bit of cloth barely covering their vaginas and breasts to attract men. Isnt it allowing men to control them? I think the word you were looking for is "provocatively". You do not equal everyone. Not saying I like or dislike the look, but I'm sure there are men who do like it and that is who they are trying to attract if they are trying to attract anyone. There are plenty of conservatively dressed ladies out there who are trying to attract you or not trying to attract anyone. Go be with them. Not everyone needs to fit your mold.

Yes I looked it up. LOL not exactly a research piece. But its besides the point. theres a difference between saying - there are quite a few gender benders in SL -and saying- Every female AV who dresses this way, or does this activity, or has this kind of body - is a gender bender. ------------- Not only is the second catagory not true, its a stereotype and blatantly judjemental.

As a guy...i'm thinking that real women dress like that in SL because its a reflection of the beautiful sexy thing that is the female mind For slutty read sensual and erotic.

I am with Collete about how I would never label someone slutty based on how they dressed or body shape. Also majority here do have one thing on their mind, which often doesn't include me that is sex. I never understood why at least my society considers a sexual powerful or liberated woman a "slut" or because she dresses showing bit of skin and curves is asking for sex. One thing as someone who makes my own clothings and shapes and seldomly buys things there is set possible choices in shapes and clothing styles even for male avatars if you just dependant on textures and sliders, I assume that goes for female avatars. When I have looked at clothes when exploring often the same designs are everywhere there is few really unique designs, most are all copy from orginal design or it looks similar. And its usually geared towards trying to make the female avatar look the sexiest because it seems like majority think and believe that every thing evolves around sex in SL. As far as far as crack whores, there was person who was intentionally running place called Skanks r us, I think it was crack prostitute roleplaying business. Some people get off on that.

I agree that you can't say *every* one is like that. Has anyone really said that *every* AV who is dressed that way is the AV of a male typist? Regardless of that, however, I think that anecdotal impressions of others can be different from the ones that have formed the basis for your own view on this, and can therefore lead to very different opinions about this.

Funnily enough those cultures where the most restricive dress for women exists, are Male dominated. Wonder how that works.

Theres no magic fashion sense gene attached to having a second X chromosome The different stereotypes people have are fighting in my mind. 1) Has to be a man! No fashion sense! 2) Has to be a man, great dresser, and as we all know gay men are born with the knowledge and ability to dress well, and as we all know all SL women are actually gay men {um, why?} trying to play a game on straight men {again, why?}. So all that know how to dress are really gay men! but, see #1 which leads to number 3 3) All women in SL are MEN! The ones that can't dress are straight and the ones that can dress are Gay Men! 4) All men in SL are actually women who didn't want noobs with attachments or without attachments chasing them and harassing them . . . or, as "everyone knows" "everyone" picks the avatar that they prefer to look at . .. and women love muscle men . . .. Stupid stereotypes fighting in my head.

Actually several in this thread Have said or implied exactly that. Thats why I spoke up. Of course there are. However its being narrow minded for someone who knew some slutty female avs who were men to then turn around and make claims that "Most slutty Avs are men" ---- BTW im not saying you were broadly stereotyping women in this manner. You only mentioned that you have doubts based on Avatar breast size.

Shep, I am sorry to inform you if you haven't learn this about women but most women dress the way the want be it here or elswhere because they like it or either they have to or want to because its comfortable or it looks good to them. It's not always to attract or get someone elses approval.

Someone associated with the Eros group told me that their estimate for female avatars having RL guys at the keyboard was approaching 20%. I don't know if that percentage equates to the number of 'skanky' female avatars in a crowd. I tend to wear jeans and t-shirt as I generally do in RL. I do have one outfit that could be described as slut/skank. Biker's Bitch it's called and it's deffo not 'girl next door' - Well not unless you live beside a biker club in a very hot climate. I've only worn it a few times for dancing. It unleashes my inner slut It was maybe designed by a guy or a really butch gal. (And "Oops Sorreeeee" in advance if it was actually designed by a sweet female.) Maybe I picked up that outfit because in RL, I'm a grossly obese beer-bellied biker GUY. Or maybe my avvie is actually close to my RL Or maybe I'm a minor of either sex.

I do at times, yes. Doubts. But I don't draw *conclusions* based on that. The only real way to tell is to meet someone in RL. Barring that, however, I do think that 90% of the male-to-female gender benders are easily weeded out in conversation with other women if you steer the conversation towards certain topics that only the most highly skilled and knowledgeable impersonators could navigate successfully -- regardless of how they are dressed, or their AV's shape.

It just something I learned I guess about women. There have been times in real life feeling protective of my female friends I really wanted them to change their clothes and they refused. One day I finally got it. LOL Personally I don't care how my female or male friends dress as long the outfit doesn't hurt my eyes. Though I tend to look at designs more. I am not into sterotypes but most people could sterotype different things about me and truthfully majority would be wrong or partially incorrect. Personally its seems like most people only care what others gender or appearance looks like because they either have nothing better to do or they need to control people to fit their own desires.

I dont bother testing people. Ill always know eventually. Men I date - Whether in Male Avs or female Avs, eventually become clingy, pushy, possesive and make me feel claustrophic. Women that I date - Become fickle and start to become bored or begin to ignore me. Or start to Poof on me, or never log on. Begin to make me feel unwanted. I dont think all men are like that, or all women are like that. Just the ones interested in me. And Im sure I have plenty to do with them responding that way. But reguardless, even though I dont know if they are gender bending ahead of time I always know eventually.

From: Lindal Kidd As you should well know, Mr. Norse. I think you deserve public congratulations and possibly a medal for bravery under fire. I refer, of course, to the incident of last weekend, when you were verbally assailed by several ladies at the Forum Hangout and challenged to prove your Matchiness. I, and my sisters in crime, publicly admit defeat. You rose to the occasion with great dignity and aplomb. Glad you enjoyed the show.
