Victorria and a few others have actually answered this question quite well. People in RL have to hold back to some extent. I have to be conservative at work because I need my job, societal norms, etc. SL is a fantasy world. You can do ANYTHING (except gamble), even stuff that boggles my mind. People are living out thoughts and ideas that they keep contained in RL, and it is no wonder that a lot of those thoughts are sexual in nature. 99.5% of guy's brains are devoted to sex. .4% is sports and .1% is day to day operations like breathing and metabolism. They number is more like 93.2% for women. Except the ones I've ever dated where it hovers around zero (statistical anomalies). Of course that's going to come out in a fantasy world.

Even for people who are sharing those SL fantasies with people they truly care about in RL, the activities are going to be more fantasy-like. You can just do stuff in SL that you can't in RL.

It's unfortunate. I wish I could pull off some of the crap in RL that I have in SL. Not even sexual stuff - just ridiculous fun stuff that would get me incarcerated or killed in RL.

In gay circles it is the same. I have laughed at men who have gone to clubs wearing assless chaps (yes, I'm being serious this time) and then got all pissed off when guys would touch their ass. Personally, I think they crave the drama as much as the attention.

My Av is certainly not slutty, however, I've been getting plenty of attention anyway, from male and female alike. What turns people on is subjective; wearing a pair of sexy jeans showing just a bit of skin with a slightly revealing tank top can be just as tantilizing as high boots and a garter belt if the face and shape wearing them is appealing enough. If you're lucky enough to have an amazing personality to boot, being slutty becomes redundent. You don't have to try hard; when you have the whole package.

I remember years ago I had a t-shirt which read "All this and brains too". That pretty much sums me up. Hum...I think I may even use that now as my by line....

I'm male. It's what we do. Right up there with eating, breathing and farting. It's programmed into us. I don't care if it's RL or your SL avatar. There's a difference between looking and totally perving out, acting like an idiot, sending inappropriate IM's, peeping on someone when they are trying to have some private time, etc. I'm just saying that if I've met you, I've checked you out, at least briefly.

It crosses the line when a guy expects a woman to instantly want to jump in the sack with him or when he takes it further than a simple checking-out and starts to do stuff to purposely make a woman feel uncomfortable like sending lewd IM's or what have you.

I'm not going to comment on what women should expect when they dress a certain way. Victorria and Bradley have both commented on that, and their perspective on the situation is better than mine.

I think a part of the slutty look is due to the fact that our clothes don't flow and drape around the body as well as we'd like it. Almost all clothes are skin tight. There is a slider on some clothing layers for ... baggy... but it results in a solid mass that looks more like the underlying body is baggy. You wouldn't think a girl wearing a tshirt as slutty but if she wears it as skintight as we must in SL then of course you'd consider her to have loose morals.

LOL. In Atlanta there was a bar I would frequent. Across the street behind the garage there was an old toothless woman who would do the same for $1. Thank God I never got THAT drunk.

Glad you asked that question Shep I've been asking myself that one since the day I arrived. Go to SLX and you'll see page upon page of 'see thu..latex n leather..exotic n sexy' outfits (and that's just for guys). I'm apparently 6.3" tall (according to some pole thing I acquired somewhere)..and I'm nothing short of tiny next to most guys here. How do we explain this...possibly people being something in SL which they arn't in RL (oops that's probably upset a few readers).

Male height is another weird one. I think I'm a pretty normal height in SL (about three inches on my screen - hah!...sorry) but there are some guys running around who would make an NBA player blanche. These guys have to be 11 feet tall and built like Mr. World!! Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe women go for the hairless giant look.

Some of these women and men want women and men to look at them, so they dress the way they think men and women like, to get looked at.

Some men and women are mistaken in their thinking. Some are right.

Some women and Some men dress to please themselves, or the way they think suits them best.

Its all a matter of taste

I'm curious how you can have a Cheap Floozy skin (or hair for that matter)??? Surely a skin is a skin, its what you cover it with that defines your look.

Personally I like outfits that have pieces you can mix and match to get different looks. That way you can dress up or down as you desire. A lot of the outfits I offer tend to be that way.

Personally I like the fantasy of SL. It allows you to create some wildly improbable clothes that would be impossible to carry off in RL. I've worn enough skirt suits in RL to want something a little more fun.

As many others have already mentioned, it's all a matter of personal taste. as the saying goes "one man's meat is another man's poison" (absolutely no reference to appendages!!!)

I mean, it wouldn't be very exciting if we all went around in housecoats or tracksuits.... SL is for the most part, a fantasy world where limits are of no importance (discounting prim limits of course).

Personally, I spend most of my time in rolled up jeans and a t-shirt, but there are times when I go all out....I've been a dancer, , panda, witch, borg drone, gypsy, fairy and the be-headed wife of Henry VIII.... oh and I've also been a tiny rabbit, but I have to say, I've never been a slutty tiny rabbit...
