My av is a full-prim furry av, is very difficult to make decent prim clothes, so I usually go without =)
But then furs can get away with that if nothing shows I think.

At last someone whos not afraid to say it how it is.

Oh ok, I get it now. You have just been trolling to find people who agree with you. Up through at least the first 15 pages of this thread, your topic was debated and talked about. You were given many valid reason why people may choose to dress the way they do. But none of those reasons fit in with your preconceived views. Then you start insulting Americans, but won't tell us which country you are from. Then comes the whining "Oh poor me!! My thread was derailed by a bunch of ...............".

Usually the only drama in these forums comes from people like you who pop in expect everyone to agree with you then can't handle it when they don't.

Think Pamela Anderson and Paris Hilton. They are the epitomy of the modern day "slutty" look. They dont look stylish and they dont look classy. They just look like cheap white trash, well at least in the pictures in the magazines etc. Another tragedy would have to be 'lil' Kim, now she is nasty LOL.
Yes Morwen sexy can be done in good style, but we're talking cheap and nasty here. You know the look, the ultra low rider jeans with the thong visible over the hips worn with platform stilettos and not to mention the tattoos, eeeeeeewww. Its not a good look

Sheesh! did the grid die last night or summat? It's taken half the morning to catch up again!!

Last time I saw Pamela Anderson was in Bay Watch, and I don't mean cable re-runs! Not even sure I've ever seen Paris or 'lil' Kim - I live a sheltered life ;) .. but! .. you specify magazines Shep? You do know people do 'anything' to crawl up the popularity stakes? So, slutty is in? they go for it. Next thing, they're role models for the new generation, no?
So it's Gloss, Glamour and Paparazzi.

In SL I stand by my earlier comments; with the vast majority of the freebies being slutty it's the easy option. Check out their born dates, they're just making do with what's free hence 10 thousand CS Passports or the multifarious anorexic rib skins.

Other than that, they're the dancers, escorts or the thousands who are just there for the sex so yes, it's going to be fairly predominate .. and competitive.

And yes, there are others who just do it to feel good and not for the attention of others.

Well, that's for the girls. Why the guys have their wedding tackle covering point duty other than in the sex sites is beyond me. I can't think why. It doesn't impress me that's for sure .. even if they match.

LOL the poster who said they spent 4kL on a skin so are going to show it :)

No, no and no! I apologise profusely if I gave that implication. No, my point is it's a very, very recognisable feature of newbies. I wanted to actually fight this whole issue of categorisation and promptly shot myself in the foot!
I love CS Passport!!!!

Well, if mini-skirts make a whore... then I was a whore in RL concerning your limited vision. During the summer days here I did wear often mini-skirts.

It is not the mini-skirt that makes a slutty look... it is about how it is done.

Come down from your high chair.... You think anyone will ever notice you were model for aDiva? Mostly as first thing you will be told to change skin, shape and hair.....

Morwen.

Everyone (you too) is allowed their own opinion, like it or not. I dont have limited vision, just an opinion. RL miniskirts look great when worn with the right outfit. SL ones are rarely worn with panache.

Lol, no high chair, its just what I choose to do in SL. Others want sex, or to dance, or escort or whatever...., who really cares? The whole point of SL is to do what you want, when you want, with whoever you want.

If you want to be naked, there are nudist beaches, want sex, sex clubs, want to model, couture houses, want to be a monster? zombie clubs.

No one really cares who does what, its just a forum conversation!!

I hate the slutty look personally. My avi never wears slutty clothes. Ballgowns ( I dance a lot) trousers, but never mini skirts or silks.

Silks are not "slutty" per se, in my view, they are fantasy slavegirl wear. They don't exist in RL really, it is a solely SL phenomenon and is appropriate for slavegirls. Some silks are absolutely gorgeous and intricate and I don't see them as slutwear -- they are slavewear.

One thing to bear in mind is that the first function of clothing is protective - in particular, protection against the weather.

Since this is not needed in SL, the only point to clothing is either as decoration or to observe a social mores.

This forum isn't for general discussion; there are many Resident Sites where this discussion is appropriate — Resident Answers is for Resident-to-Resident help. :) I'll close this thread...
