Any way, to the OP, yes Brad and Angelina are American "ideals" but with television and movies showing lots of skin all over the world (with the notable exception of certain cultures) it's easy to assume that "beautiful" = "skimpy clothes." It's not right, but it's probably true.

I do not consider the clothes I sell as slutty, not high classy either

Because we get to have idealized bodies and love to show them off. Whereas we probably wouldn't do it in real life, even if we HAD the bodies, because those clothes are freaking uncomfortable! Think of all the double sided tape we would need to keep boobs inside skimpy clothing...

That said, I am all about tasteful, but just about everyone has something a little dirty for the rebel inside.

I dont think having muscles and looking slutty are the same thing. Having a nice bod is different to dressing like Linda Lovelace.
Dont get me wrong, Im not saying theres anything wrong with dressing that way and many men act like big sluts in SL too with their erect dicks exposed which is irritating most of the time. Im just curious as to why women wanna dress as mens porn star fantasies.

I think the OP was referring to the Hoochy Mama Floozies: too much of everything except clothing, and that's missing in most of the strategic spots.

One of the problems causing that, seems to be the clothing, accessories and skin designers. Go in *most* (but not all) women's stores on SL and most of what you see are Cheap Floozy skins, hair, shoes and clothing.

I don't make womens apparel or skins so I don't know why the designers make most of the clothing look that way.

Maybe someone that has a store that sells that stuff could shed some light on that.

My av is quite modest, no stripper boobs, booty and 10 feet tall. I wear mostly jeans or normal outfits. But I think it's the company it attracts. When I first came here in 05, I was amazed at all the "strippers". Between the oversized booty, and oddly shaped waist compared to tatties, they all looked like bad boob jobs by an overzealous plastic surgeon!

Many girls come here and think they want a man. So they dress a certain way to ensure getting hit on. That's my majority opinion. There are exceptions, some chicks want to feel "virtually" sexy, but most of the girls that dress like that on a normal day, usually are looking for attention. (Which is absolutely fine, I just don't go about it that way, I get attention by my humor, not my pixel butt.)

A side theory, I think a lot of girls are guys in this game... have no idea on real proportions, but they'd rather stare at a fantasy than a dude's butt.

For guys, I have NO idea what's up with that. Maybe they think all chicks want to date Ahnold. Maybe they just don't care. The best guy avs I've ever seen are natural looking, not ready to scream out "We want to PUMP *clap* you up!"

There is a demand for it? Profit? Market forces determining where to put your production resources?

Its a personal thing... We are not all attracted to the same type in RL and thank goodness that works for pixels to!

I was actually surprised at how many ladies come to my shop and say "thank goodness you have modest clothing!" I don't have any problem finding cute, fully covering stuff. I DO have some slutty stuff, but I wear it every now and then just to do something different, not ALL the time.

That's a fact. Hang out at the hangout and you will see people who have done beautiful work on their shapes and who dress their avatars attractively without being slutty at all. Except me. I dress like I just rolled out of bed with a hangover. Probably because I actually did just roll out of bed with a hangover. I also haven't noticed any giant musclebound guys. Ray, Mal, Sobriquet, me - all pretty normal proportions, but still idealized a little. I don't know about Bradley, but my avatar looks WAY better than I do in RL. He's thinner and has the hair that I've always wanted but which would get me fired almost instantly.

A lot of it depends on where you hang out. Dance clubs, anyplace with sexual content, etc., of course you see a lot of that, but in other types of places, it's not as common. That's a generalization, of course. You are always going to get someone showing up in a leather thong and pasties, or some idiot with his primness hanging out, even if you're in a church.

The bottom line is that there is a place for everything. Except gambling. (kidding) Some people, especially the new ones go a little "Girls Gone Wild" when they get the freedom we have in SL, but most eventually tone it down. If they don't, who cares? They don't hurt anything, and if it makes them happy, then good on them.

Same reason it`s popular in RL. SL allows any not-so-attractive person in RL, to be attractive here. They can have the body, they`re going to flaunt it.

I big reason why some girls in RL *don`t* dress provokingly is because their body type/skin does not allow for it.

Personally I admire girls who *could* dress like that in RL, but choose not to. I don`t have a need in seeing someones body so exposed unless it`s my wife.

For me Slutty does not equal attractive. I think its sad that women feel they need to wear nothing but a bit of cloth barely covering their vaginas and breasts to attract men. Isnt it allowing men to control them?

Lots of men are shallow pigs, sadly, that *is* how females have to attract them.

Of course, this isn`t true for everyone. But when a man is on a sex hunt, which seems to be quite often, that`s how she will lure him in.

I never understood why females give into that so easily. The response is always "to feel wanted." But how can you feel wanted when the person is only using you, taking pieces of you - It doesn`t add up.
