From: Macphisto Angelus X-Force gave birth to Cable as I recall. I followed that series for awhile and enjoyed it. Actually, Cable debuted in the New Mutants book. It was afterward that NM was cancelled and X-Force was born. It wasn't terrible but I hated the artwork and I didn't like the development. I thought Cable was overrated and didn't come into much use until much later on. Of course, this also roughly coincided with Claremont leaving the books, and the downward spiral thereafter.

I had a problem in my black hole of a sim for the longest time. I could not directly TP in there for some reason. Only if I was coming from LL owned land. Why i have no idea... anyway I used Bear a lot. Never had a problem getting into Bear and never seen more than a handful of people in the infohub.
Anyway, why not just move? If something gave me this big of a headache , I would just suck it up and move.

From: Rioko Bamaisin anyway I used Bear a lot. Never had a problem getting into Bear and never seen more than a handful of people in the infohub. Again, a year's worth of abuse reports are in the hands of the Linden Community team documenting with Map screen shots when the sim was full and indivating that 90% of the avatars were in the infohub at the time. Others have posted about the infohub in their sims using too many resources also. And here is a picture of a full hub with 90% of the avatars loitering in the Infohub: http://s41.photobucket.com/albums/e298/bladyblue/BEAR/?action=view¤t=41insimposter-1.jpgAfter being in the sane sim with the telehub/infohub - I have no reason to fabricate some issue about loitering. Anyway, why not just move? If something gave me this big of a headache , I would just suck it up and move. Because the service provider craeted this problem after collecting tier from me for two years. And the service provider can fix the problem just as easily - and is obligated to do so. Make the infohub accessible to Mentors and avatars under 30 days old and the problem is solved. Or remove it altogether since the Lindens do not have the manpower to make the space an effective tool for new players without inconvieniencing tier paying members. No one in Linden Lab ever announced that mainland sims with infohubs in them will now be used as public chat zones. Once they make this announcement then we can have a discussion about server reources, breach of contract and compensation. Until then I will use the resources I pay for as I like. Even if it inconvieniences the loiterers in the infohub.

You would think...

You would think that LL would want to keep their tier paying customers happy. You would think it would be a priority. You would think that LL would want to try to keep peace with the exact people that make having SL possible for everyone (Tier Payers) in the first place.
LL continues to side with griefers, foul mouthed loiterers & Pornographers in the Bear Infohub. I have been verbally or virtually assaulted every time I enter the infohub. People that don't even know me, approach me to push me, curse and abuse me. Why? Because I own land and run a shop next to the infohub. Do I know these people? no! Have I ever met them before? No!
This is a daily business for the Info hub group that loiters 24/7 in Bear's Infohub. Raven, it is false and an outright lie to say that there are only a small hand full of people loitering at a given time. I have seen their numbers reach 25+ at almost any time of the day. I used to really like the infohub when actual newbies were coming and going in there. In the past year it has turned into a disgusting griever hangout. And NO.... I will not move just because a bunch of trash moved into the neighborhood! Is that what you people do whenever you are faced with a challenge. You run away! Pathetic

Funny Ryan, I have checked the map several times over the past 3 days, at various times. The most I ever found in the sim were 24, and half of those were in another area away from the infohub.

I find it hard to believe that LL would allow people to push and abuse you. Do you AR these people? Do you send LL the proof? I'd reply more but I am to busy cracking up over your overly dramatic outrage. Um no one died, calm down. I'm going to Bear tonight,I think I might like these people.

Paying for services and not recieving them is usually amusing to those not paying. It is to be expected. Chris, a link to a photobucket picture showing a full sim with the majority of the resources being abused at the infohub at the time has no effect on you whatsoever. Troll on, my friend. The FACT remains that when the Infohub is abuse reported for making it impossible to teleport into the sim(Which I personally have reported several times in the last year) LL does nothing or tells me to wait it out. When a tier-paying customer uses the majority of the resources and the infofhub loiterers AR this the Lindens respond immediately to restore the comfort level of the loiterers. Double standard, abuse of power and breach of contract. Make entry into the infohub available for new players below 30 days old and Mentors. Problem solved.

Like I said, over the past 3 days, I checked the map of the Bear sim at least 10 times. At no time were there more than 24 people in the whole sim. And the time there were 24 people half were at the info hub, and half were at another spot in the sim. Do away with the info hub so people like you can't prey upon newbies, problem solved.

with traffic stats still kinda borked with the recent errors...
I'd say there needs to be 24/7 monitoring of the site to have accurate numbers.
After all it may be the majority of the crowd is hitting it at their peak hours and not the usual hours of the people map viewing it.

Currently at 2pm SLT, 15 people are in the sim. Are you checking it just when the mood strikes. Peak usage and time of peak usage is what is needed. Meaning for an a true assessment, about every 15min checking and logging the numbers in the sim and if they are in the info hub Preferably by several folks doing it over a period of time, up to I'd say a week or two

Preferably by several folks doing it over a period of time, up to I'd say a week or two It has been a random sample. If it is such an ongoing problem like Lias makes it out to be, it should be caught, but I have not seen it.

Actually, I pay plenty of money to LL every month and get crappy service in return. Can I find it amusing now? Still never felt the need to call people trash and pathetic.

The monitoring shouldn't be known. Quite a few groups will change their behavior to avoid being monitored doing it. A good example was where the city put up traffic monitors, people would change routes to avoid them and skewed the results. So a month later they put them up without letting people know they were being used again and got accurate results for the first couple days then noticed the sudden drop off as people realized they were there again. So basically seeing someone raising a stink will commonly result in people moving elsewhere for a time till said stink dies down (seen it in clubs where a group comes in and annoys the usual patrons.. but when security shows up the troublemakers poof and don't come back for a time)

From: Chris Norse One picture does not abuse make. Now your catchng on. So a few hours that the infoub loiterers cannot bring in more than ten of their chat buddies is not abuse either. Are you now seeing the double standard Chris? Or are you blinded by the windlight?

From: Chris Norse That statement made no sense what so ever. Chris I am staying on topic. If you look back at the first post - it was about the infohub loitering rendering the sim full and the knee-jerk reaction from the Lindens when the loiterers complained about a tier-payer using 30 avatar slots in a 43 avatar sim. The Linden immediate reaction to a full sim complaint from loiterers was in stark contrast to their response (or lack there of) to numerous complaints over a year's time from a tier paying resident on the same server. The Lindens telling me to wait until the loiterers freed up a spot when I complained as opposed to the Linden immediate response when the loiterers complained created a DOUBLE STANDARD. Comprende?

Popped into Bear - 18 people during a peak SL hour.
Kris is right, Lias. There's no point in irritating a huge chunk of potential customers when you could embrace them, but I'm not sure you actually want customers as much as you want to be right. *shrug*

This is an interesting thread. My first thought was that it's abominable that LL would accept that their own infohub fills the sim's avatar allocation and causes other residents who own land there to not be able to get in at times. But then I thought, what would LL do if a club's guests or a shop's visitors, did the same thing in a sim? Would we expect a Linden to come out and tell some of the people to leave because the sim is full and landowners can't get home? I don't think we'd expect that to happen - and it shouldn't. The people would be going about their normal business and that's just the way it is.
On the other hand, if the owner of a piece of land in the sim organises the sim's avatar allocation to be largely used up, without any reason for the avatars to be there, other than to help fill the sim (e.g. camping spots, bots) to the detriment of other sim users, we would certainly expect a Linden to do something about it, and rightly so.
Isn't that what happens, and has happened, in Bear? The infohub is tantamount to club location, so why would a Linden tell some of the people to move out? And why would a Linden leave avatars pointlessly dancing on pads if it's filling the sim?

one possibility, and heard of it being done at times is using bots to flood a sim where another had their stores simply to make it look like they used bots to inflate the traffic (as well as burn sim resources)
