Put it out? Cum?

I'm going to assume you meant to say "pull it out".

I could be wrong, though.

I'm afraid it probably has everything to do with hair. Lots of flexi-hair. If we all went bald (sorry Sally and Brenda), everything would be fine.

No, no, no, no absolutely no way!

I like the luddite one.

I like voice, I'm going to use it. If the people around don't want to use it....then I'll type.

Look at that!!! We can do both!!! They LL overlords are not taking our keyboards away!!!!

What is the Luddite take on flexi-hair?

The first of the "Big Six"! Tolerance for typists! :D

And the best part. Some of us can talk and type at the same time!! Heck, I can ever dictate to myself if I feel like it

Well, I'm now 99% sure Tybalt isn't involved in managing software projects otherwise they would have recognised the phrase as a software anti-pattern rather than an insult!

Of course, not spotting the lack of a comma might have been even more difficult in voice!

Matthew

I have nothing to do with software, but recognized the phrase. :)

Hehe funny you should say that, a couple times hanging out with some friends using voice...we ended up having two conversations going at the same time within the same group...one in type and one in v-chat...they started out related, but like all conversation, they went their separate ways and were on topics that had nothing to do with each other!

It would be interesting to see if that becomes a normal occurrance once voice is more widely implemented and everyone gets used to it...

No one's ever going to concede their point. That's why this turns into such a flame-fest everytime it comes up. No one can concede that people have thier reasons for liking or disliking things. Then their opinion wouldn't be holy and annointed by God...I mean Philip Linden...I mean Bhudda or Tom Cruise...

Bigwig is convinced that anyone that doesn't see the positives (which I see) of voice is nuts or otherwise ignoring a great opportunity.

Colette and the forum status quo champions refuse to accept that SL is different things to different people so there may be a chance that there are people in the 30-50k that are online at any given time that they haven't met that would love to use voice and reap the benefits without shunning the typing community.

They also have trouble understanding that the forums don't represent an even sample of the SL population and could possibly be a bit one-sided on certain topics.

Then both sides (but usually the status quo champs from what I've seen) start picking out what they want to hear so they can continue the attack while ignoring other parts of posts that would otherwise render their arguements invalid or silly.

Basically once you see people analysing someone's post without actually responding to it (paragraphs: 4) you know the argument has come to an end and it's time to complain about LL and how bad of a company they are for not reading your minds.

Well. I have just been to 0,0,0 and have my hair AND my shoes up my bum.

That for me is far more pertinent than anything else!

No problem - I read fast and the phrase lodged in my mind as a phrase, not as individual words - so I didn't catch the other meaning :)

Magna Cum Laude?

I roll with Squeeze. This particular argument is pointless, NO ONE is going to budge, everyone knows where everyone else stands, so if the Lindens would just put the frigging thing out already and let nature take it's course we can get back to meaningless but highly entertaining threads about landbots and Penguins.

I actually wish theyd just go ahead and universally release it too.

I doubt the Lindens are interested in constructive ciriticism.

----

And after its out. And People prove out human nature-

a couple posters in these threads might think-

"Wow Colette wasnt a kook - people really CAN be jerks when pressuring others to voice."

and if luck is with us they might think "Maybe we should try to tell them to be less jerky for a change."

I guess we will see.

But then we would have to use voice to tell them to stop being Jerky, thereby submitting to the Evil. OOhhhh a Paradox!

Not the pro-voice crowd they will already be voicing.

The open minded ones might remember the anti-voicers' concerns once they see the harassment first hand.

That would be interesting. I'd wear my penguin shirt and walk around waving that sign.

I know she's ignoring me but that doesn't make her less wrong in this post.

I've had plenty of harassment on voice when I was out promoting my grand opening event about a month ago.

What did I do?

I muted the assholes...simple as that...and it worked perfectly! It was easier than having to deal with jerks IRL!!

Sorry, but Colette will still be a paranoid kook when voice is fully implemented...she'll just be a quiet one!

From the way this thread has gone, I doubt Colette would consider you one of the open-minded Voice Users.

Nope, I meant slapnuts it's my standard name for people who call me stuff like "Creep".

He wasn't refering to you when he said "feature creep". That is what the process is called when implementing features gradually becomes the priority in software development.

In the context of a text-based virtual world...that assumption is INHERENT, man.

These forums, this whole enterprise, and the RP that developed HERE...is text-based.

When you talk about SLRP...you're talking about a roleplay that's wholly, completely, totally, built around a text-based platform that has cool, movable avatars.

The assumption that all RP is the same as "acting" is one that requires a bit of head-shaking, I'm afraid.

When i talk about Role Play I am speaking in general terms (The only exception is when speaking of my own experience or - like earlier posts - how I go about it) - not Role Play in a specific environment.
