Almost since I've been on I've had voice when I wanted it. It's called Skype and probably works as well as anything Linden will come up with without using up bandwith. You think it's slow now?? wait until voice

If you could still mute posters to the forums like you used to be able to when LL spent more time taking care of business rather then shining up stupid unnecessary features and I could mute Jig and Ent I bet this thread would be a third the lenght. I had to stop on page 4 coz I was feeling sort of nauseious.

I will agree with Ent that successful mastery of the MUTE feature is key to a pleasent SL. Too bad the idea was presented in such a condescending manner.

Can someone please just explain to me WHY we need voice capabilities on this unscalable unstable platform when Skype and Ventrilo already exsist? I don't want to get into a debate about anything, I'm just askin. Why do we need it when other technology already exsists that can successfully be utilized with the SL client without affecting the SL enviroment for other users?

Now, unless your name is Colette too, which I admit I'm not sure of (not knowing you and all), what I suggest you do is see your way out of any conversation I am having with someone not named Solar Legion and don't ever presume to tell me what I do and don't have the right to state until you start paying my rent.

As for Help Island Public, if you think anything occurring there is going to justify your snotty little attitude, I would suggest you re-visit the entire concept of being wrong.

I know this guy who works for one of the companies developing the Voice stuff in SL. He used to hang out at the Umbra. He is a slimy little weasel who always wants sex.

Maybe one of the voice lovers should to volunteer to sex him up some. Then he might actually work on making it work instead of trying to get some cyber action while hes at work.

Go past page 4 and that'll probably be touched on. LL is a business and realized that business was going to 3rd parties that could be going to them. Voice has yet to add any instability to SL from what I've seen and experienced.

Can someone please just explain to me WHY it can't just be an optional feature that some people want to use and some don't want to use?

a) when talking, you need other people to talk to;
b) you can't choose what those other people want to use.

What I said to Colette had nothing to do with admitting or denying points about voice and everything to do with how Colette has been ganged up on by a few guys who wanna beat their chests and tell everyone to 'suck it up' without knowing anything about what they are asking people to suck up.

Here's a better thought: Instead of the rather pointless response I've quoted about - yep, you knew it was coming - deal with the fact that people are GOING to respond. They are GOING to tell you when enough is enough.

Oh yes - next time you deign to respond, get your facts straight hmm? My advice to those being harassed - after telling off the harassing party - is to file a report (if possible, usually from text or other abuse), place the person on mute/ignore/whatever and to make it rather clear they want to be left alone if said person decides to keep at it.

If you lack that common sense - as in if you constantly whine about the harassment you're getting - you get zero pity from most. Guess what?
