Gor can be seen as a subset of BDSM. It is a very strict subset with rules for how all slaves are to act. Men are inheirently Masters and women are subserviant. Even free women do not have the rights and privalidges of a man. There is a matriacal offshoot often called Panters girls but these are not part of the normial gorean society and are defined as outlaws.

BDSM is Bondage, Descipline, Dominace/Submission, Sado-Masicism -- that is it covers a wide range of kinks.Rules are defind by the people involved. The submissive is not always a slave and in fact are usually not. The sub has the right to say no, but once an action is agreed o, they must continue if possible. The Dominante partner can be either male or female. The play can be any of a number of things -- whatever is a fantasy or turnon to people involved. Exhibitionism, vourism, bondage, shibari, beastiality, pain, crossdressing, hot/cold play, pony play, and a list of anything at all you decide on. Everything from pillow talk to sexual canibalism. It's not all whips and chains.

And finally, Gor is 24/7. You are always a slave and a woman and must act that way all the time. BDSM is defined again by the people involved. some are only on while at home, but equals in public. many enjoy being submissive all the time and want to achieve a total power exchange (to use a buzz word) where the dominante partner makes all decisions including what to where, chores for the day and how to behave. Even these TPE couples/groups have what is known as aftercare. Once the sceene is played out, the participants talk about what happened, how it affected them, what they liked, anything they did not like and generally cuddle and share each others feelings. This can happen on gor but it is up to the individual master and is not part of the structured socity.

There will be tons of discinting opinions and they will all have very valid points, but this is it in a nut shell. Gor is a set of rulles all players live by. BDSM is a loos collection of ideas you pick and choose as a couple/group.

At the place I went to they had contracts which said how long and for how many hours a week they would be slaves. One girl was hiring herself out as a surogate mother for nine months. How does that work in sl.

I know, Cherry, and i knew you would jump on that. I was just trying to give a very brief discription with as little bias as possible.

It would be closer to how I feel if I said Gor is a religion based on one poor writters sexual perversions but then that would be seen as trying to sway someone's opinion -- and piss off someone else I am fond of in the process.

This roleplay can be quite detailed. I ran across a "pregnancy center" once that was set up like a clinic. They had a reception area, an examination room, and a birthing room.

Most SL pregnancies last much less than 9 months. Like the 4 hour day/night cycle, avatars gestate faster here.

AS a mom of five sons, I don't quite understand why anyone would want to RP pregnancy, but whatever floats your boat...

Hey, I know very little about this - what kind of market is it? A commodities market?

Do they have an index fund?

Can you sell short, or hedge your investment?

Say you were buying and trading rapidly on margin, and then the market suddenly dropped - would you then have to take delivery on 500 unsold?

Perhaps they have a daily market analysis?

I think you picked up BDSM is what the letters stand for hon. Where does that put things like, say, sexual humiliation? And just reading those words will make those not into it recoil in horror. Where does it put things like objectification fetishes, "messy" play (one of my favourites ... bring on the trifle!), spanking and discipline, power exchange ... the list goes on and on and on but it isn't something just couples decide between themselves - these are recognisable entities in their own right too.

Our pregnancies at the gestation station are only 2 weeks. This allows our surrogates the fun of 0-9 in record time with never a dull moment. (you get to grow every day intstead of every few weeks. I even have perfected a script that will auto grow over a course of a few weeks so you need not touch your edits, takes some control away from you and your end overall size. to be released in the next few weeks)

Of course we have a birth center to for regular SL pregnancies, and Im quite excited about it!
