Prokofy,
Here, since you are as blind as a fucking bat, and keep claiming I did not answer you - this is from several pages ago - you even responded to it: I told you exactly what I used them for. If I used them to track RL info or your alts, I would have included that in my statement of what I use them for. My god, you are such an obtuse idiot, Prokofy, seriously. There is your statement - I use the IP addresses for the stated purposes, and that is all. Seriously, I don't know what is wrong with you Prokofy, but I advise you to seek help - you have fallen so far into a mental abyss there is no hope of coming out on your own. _____________________

http://www.privacytimes.com/NewWebstories/oxymoron_priv_2_23.htm Read this article, which not only explains the kind of problem we're dealing with right now with your website grabbing this number, it uses the term "ISP" to explain what is grabbed. I read the article, which is 5 years old by the way, and found nothing to support the 'problem' and how it relates to 'grabbing' any IP addresses. There was this: "For instance, Outpost.com, a Web site offering palm pilots and other hi-tech gear, promised to fix a glitch that potentially revealed customers' detailed transaction summaries, including e-mail, billing and shipping addresses, type of credit card they used, and their order history. Outpost.com customers James Wynn noticed his order number was in his URL address. When he changed digits in the URL address, he was able to see other customers' orders." But that has nothing to do with your IP address. Can you specify what you're referring to? _____________________

No one calls them ISP numbers. You know why? Because they're not called that. At least own up to your ignorance, please. They're called IP numbers. Sometimes IPs. Or IPS plural people write hastily. I'm quite aware of that. This isn't an ignorance problem, as I wrote ages ago the spell-out of these ltters, INTERNET PROTOCOL. DUH. They're also called ISP addresses. Internet Service Provider. _____________________

I have three things to say...
1. Prokofy: shut the fuck up. And nobody calls them "IPS addresses"... except you, that is. 2. Cris: Prokofy knows very well that he's being irrational and assholish. He's simply enjoying our reaction to it. He truly gets off on pissing people off. He should be banned. 3. Forum moderators: Where the hell are you, and why hasn't this thread been locked or deleted and Prokofy banned? _____________________

Forum moderators: Where the hell are you, and why hasn't this thread been locked or deleted and Prokofy banned? Lock away. But they have nothing to ban me for because I didn't do anything wrong. If I said "dickhead" it was only after being called an asshole about 20 times LOL. Honestly, do you not get it? _____________________

You can't lie, apprently, Cristiano. You can't say that in fact you DO this. I know you do it. We all know you do it. Do you realize it is wrong? Because instead of making a positive open statement that you do not track people to RL and you do not out alts, you are continuing to dance up a storm. I suspect the issue of the outing of alts is where I"ve got you, Cristiano. Fess up. For the last time, I will state this unequivocably, so even you can get it through your obtuse, psycopathic head, hun. I have repeatedly stated that the ONLY two things the IP addresses are collected for are the purposes I stated them for, and nothing else - they are used for no other purpose, never have been nor would they ever be. No dancing, no lying. You can keep pretending and trying to rewrite the truth, but I have answered you over and over again. You decided to jump on the alt bandwagon when you could not make anything else stick , but I covered that already by stating uequivocably what the IP addresses are used for. By stating their only uses, it is also a statement that they are not used for anything else, including all the nefarious purposes you keep making up to achieve orgasm. I know you are sitting there thinking you caught me in something, but what you are in fact caught in is the noose of the mess you made around your own neck. _____________________

The issue of you being the most pathetic liar and fraud I have ever seen is where we now have all have you - this thread has been your undoing. I'm happy to have helped the public understand that when they use your services and your website, they have no protection against you and your cronies tracking them down in RL, linking their SL avatars to RL information, and outing their alts. Your statements that you do NOT do this have been far too late in coming, too evasive, and still aren't clear. As for my "undoing," Cristiano, get a grip. You still belive you rule the roost. You still believe that beta testers can make or break newcomers. You still believe that you can "do" or "undo" a person in Second Life based on the forums, or based on whatever you feel like. You couldn't be more wrong! _____________________

They are IP addresses only, they control IP routing between hosts. This actually means that an ISP does not ever be involved. IP addresses were assigned before ISP's even existed. The term dates back to the first TCP/IP-over-radio experiment in Hawaii in the early 1960's. That's helpful to know, Adam. People call them IP numbers. They also talk about their ISP addresses. The article I cited -- it doesn't matter if it was from the year 2000, other articles like it could be found today -- talks about the misuse of these addresses (on the Internet, duh, not in RL buildings) and how fraud can be committed with them. _____________________
