Tale of 3 avies, sorta

Let's see...
At the time (this is not my first SL avie), my then SL b/f & I were considering getting into a certain industry, hence the first name, partially. Also, and this probably will only make sense to about one person in SL, it was a play on a joke about a room in an apartment I know longer live in. Ok, that apartment had this very grand (well the whole place was pretty grand) oval room, originally intended to be a dining room, butler's buzzer in the floor and all. So, my roomie and I instead used it as a (as the gouche would say, TV room) Media Salon. If you remember the Three Stooges movies, they often had a comic foil in Margaret Dumont, playing the part of the doyenne, in silk and satin, half-eye glasses and a high-society sneer. Now, here's the really tricky part. Imagine Margaret Dumont saying Media Salon ... Meeedheia SayLohn ... get it? Ok ... it's Muh DOM Maracas ... not madame as in proprieitor of a cat house ... nope ... the grand lady of the house ... as in "MuhDOM will see you now" ... etc. Get it? Maracas ... I'm 1/2 spanish, it has a nice cadence w/Madame, and ... yes a joke on big boobies. Why the heck not? ![]() Who are my other (2) alts/avies? Hmmmmm. Ok, one, I won't say but, she's got that EX's last name, is almost never used and has a bimbo first name. That was a waste of $10, if only I had realized what a waste of time HE was, but that's not for here. The Primary, she's got my Thereian first name and a latin last name that sounded good. I later found out (checked w/my Pops) it means (roughly) wrestler (as in WWF Smackdown, not Olympic) but not quite. She's the good girl. ![]() Oh, and Asandra? Well that's the name of the heroine of a screenplay I wrote in 7th grade. CGI is catching up to the point where it might be filmable now, seriously. Madame gets to have more fun. That's why she gets out more ... say it with me ... MuhDOM ... hehehehehehe ![]() _____________________

I chose the name Coyote because, well, I think it's cool. ^^ Being a furry influenced it, too, although it's not the species I normally go by.
I sat for a good twenty minutes at the account creation screen trying to choose a last name. Palmerstone? Lioncourt? Gullwing? While I like all of those names, I ultimately chose Unsung because it fits so well with the first name. Not only is there the romanticized image of a coyote howling at the moon, the combination conjures up all kinds of connotations in my mind: modesty, sorrow, missed chances, latent potential, unvoiced melody. I like it. ^_^ |

Traxx was the name of my level 99 barbarian in Diablo II Lord of Destruction. Man that game was fun! ...until cheathackers wrecked it. : \
Guard of Traxx was my name in TSO and on the Stratics forums. Then some &$&*$*$$ picked Traxx as his forum name. Grrr. TSO was boring, but it was the first time I could build something in a game (other than Starcraft maps). Traxx Hathor sounds barbaric enough for SL : D |

Hmm. In There I was my real name but I wanted a bit more privacy here...
...so I was sitting around with my mates thinking of names when the beer started flowing and the suggestions went from normal to outrageous. I didn't want an outrageous name so we started fixating on my many personality traits. We got stuck on my ego and ran through royalty. Before we knew it Baron was thrown out and it stuck. Heh. Grayson just sounded good. |

Well a lot of people ask about my name so...
Elgyfu is one of the spellings of the name of an Anglo-Saxon queen. It was probably pronounced El-Gee-Ver (clues from the other spelling alternatives). I used it as my email address a few years ago and it has been with me throughout my Internet life. I wanted a name that was pretty unique and memorable. In SL people call me Elgy, Elg, Ellie and (for no apparent reason) Elfy. But I answer to just about anything so that is ok! |

Issarlk is a name I had to find for a pen and paper RPG game I played once. It was "Dark Sun", the same thing as Dungeon and Dragon but in the desert. I played a Thrikreen, a sentiens mantis (playable race in this world). The name had to have Ks and Ss so I searched on the internet a bit and found the name of a greek city: Hissarlik it sounded good for a name, I changed it a bit into Issarlk.
When I got on the internet years laters and had to create my first login name that name came to my memory and I used it ever since. I noticed way later that Hissarlik is the location of the city of Troy, whose destruction was caused by Eris. I wonder if it is a coincidence that I found this nickname (or that this nickname found me). Hail Eris. _____________________

I had just been on vacation....went to Montreal and had visited the botanical gardens there. One of the themed gardens was Japanese, and the names of several Shinto gods were discussed in some text I read about the culture. The name Inari just stuck with me, and then when I picked my last name, I went with something that seemed to fit with it.
My alt, Noelle Galatea....Noelle is what my mom wanted to name me, and so I started using it as a handle when i played UruLive. When that went away, I came to SL and decided to stick with it. Galatea: the annoyingly humorous female android from Bicentennial Man... ![]() _____________________

What's in a name?
12-31-2004 14:33
My name "Nisa" is A sin backwards. In all of the rpg games that I've played, I've always had an assassin class character. Traditionally the name would be " Nisa Seoulborn ". I use that name so much that my real life friends call me Nisa

Well i got my name from a greek goddess. There is not much that has survived of the history of Pandia as a Greek Goddess. Pandia: Her name meant "All Bright" and she was the Goddess of the Brightness, especially the Sun. She may have also been the Goddess of the Full Moon, as she was the mate of Zeus in his epithet of Zeus Pandion (the Full Moon God). I really love history especially Greek and Roman so it seemed to fit me
