By the way, someone fish out the bit of the TOS that talks about posting private conversations to the forum. I know it's there since the Lindens use it all the time, but I'm too feted and inner to look for it right now, and my hedonism wants me to drink coffee instead.

I agree. If Prokofy had a problem with a Live Helper, he should have spoken to a Linden. Instead, he attacked the group, and the group (including former members and supportive non-members) closed ranks to fight back. What else did you expect to happen?

I admire your tenacity, but highly recommend finding a good therapist. It's glaringly obvious that your problems with this imagined feted elite amount to nothing more than envy. You don't look good in green. Respect is earned, not given in return for throwing hissy fits no matter how articulately worded. And I THOUGHT the topic here was how bady behaved the Helpers and Mentors are. So, what you guy REALLY want is to stop fellow users from helping each other AT ALL? Or you just don't want to allow them to wear paper hats while they do it?

If you post a private conversation with names, that could be a violation of the TOS. But I didn't post a private conversation with names. I posted a conversation between myself and someone in public office wearing their Live Help hat as they used their position to bully me. There are times when you have to blow the whistle on things like that. And I have. It doesn't matter if I'm a kook or I exaggerate. I've done something legitimate and I stand by it. He has done something illegitimate, and if he comes on here and exposes his name, and tells me he is justified in his actions, that's his funeral.

I'm not "on" medications nor do I need to be "on" something, if anything, refusing to be intimidated by Forum Harpies and Board Bullies is a sign of mental health and strength.

I did not begin by attacking the institution of Live Helpers (I didn't even deal with Mentors, that was brought up later by others). I praised it in paragraph one of my initial post. I questioned one individual using the hat of Live Help to bully a person into lowering their land price and being condescending about someone's business in the game when it was really no business of his. If I pushed it way beyond all logical sense, to the annoyance of all, it's because I refuse to give ground on these principles: Live Helpers cannot do that. It is not good, professional, ethics. They need more training. I don't care if they are volunteers. Either the Lindens need to sift through a little better (others have come forward with complaints) or they need to rethink whether handing the job of mentoring to older players -- outsourcing work for free to save a buck -- is really worth it in the long run.

I think it really is a bad business practice to create a fancy Concierge who is a high-paid permanent benefited in-house Linden to serve the high-end "power gamers," and leave the rank-and-file to the tender mercies of the Live Help. It creates more of a gulf in status and intensifies the class war. At what level will I get a Concierge -- owning half a sim? What if "half a sim" isn't all on the same sim? Or what happens on the day that a plot of land sells from half a sim and makes me less than a half-sim owner? That's all ridiculous. The Lindens should be providing the same level of paid, professional game help to all customers. I really question this.

It's ok to question this system, it's ok to question how one individual got to get into this system given his bad attitude, and it's ok to question why there isn't more training, supervision, and instillation of more of a sense of customer relations ethics. Hell, it's more than ok, it's a legitimate demand of a customer and a citzen of a virtual world.


That the feted have gone into a frenzy over this merely lends more credence to my theory -- they've had a free ride for too long and are feeling the pinch.

I can well understand that after two years of being granted, incubated, ego-massaged at personal town meetings with the CEO himself, given personal announcements of events, had yourself highlighted in all kinds of programs and perks that you feel absolutely outraged that someone who hasn't had all those benefits -- and doesn't want them!!!! -- comes along here and says: the party is over.
