You know someone's cheese is out in the wind when they start bringing in their Alts to agree with them and/or insult people for them.

A tip: If everyone seems to think you're an asshat, chances are it's you that is the problem and not everyone else. This is the one thing I've seen everyone in these forums seem to agree on, and that is no small 'fete'. The SL forum regulars, at last, find some common ground.

Isn’t interesting that those traits carry over to alts so clearly? Perhaps it’s verification of the diagnosis

Anyway, let me tell you - and many others will vouch for the truth in it – that I have never been granted, incubated, ego-massaged, had an event announced, had perks of any sort (except that beta T-Shirt that wouldn’t fit), or received benefits (as far as I remember). And my main interaction with the CEO is to be ignored – though I do remember one fairly lively shouting thingy shortly after 1.2.

I won the lotto once, though.

Anyway, I’d like to make one particular thing clear. You are WAY down the list of people who can call this – or ANY – party over. The party is still on, and you should stop griping about not being invited properly, or not notified that the cheese ball was almost gone.

Learn to play with others. I bet there have been MANY people who went an extra step or two to get along with you. Why don’t you learn to do the same?

Yes, yes, it would be best to have a cadre of Lindens to concierge the whole bunch of us. (Maybe they could even do my building and marketing for me.) But, unlike you, I haven’t the money to pay for that kind of service. If you really NEED that, then go to that other virtual world where they do that all the time. You know. That other place. Uh…where was that? Hmmm. Can’t think. Well, you know where it is, right? Must know; you keep comparing.

In the meantime, I’m going to push to shut down ALL services here. From now on everyone MUST learn EVERYTHING or they have to leave. That should shut the place down.

Either that or we’ll just keep trying to help each other and just throw out all the whiners.

Hmmm. That sounds even better.

Geez, no secret there! I don't know what you think you're pouncing on, and no, I don't "forget" to clear out cookies.

Duh, I already stated that Prokofy=Dyerbrook ages ago in another thread, and have done so repeatedly. Dyerbrook was my name in TSO, and there's no "source" you have to go to in order to discover this, just look on my profile where the same tag, the same website, etc. is on both profiles.

There's no proof that any of you have offered me that you aren't anything but an unaware, self-referential, arrogant bunch determined to hang on to your pixelated power base for eternity. Your ominous threat is empty to the effect that, "the only thing that concerns me really however is that how such an abusive, and obviously dangerous person is still allowed to post here". It is a PERFECT example of this problem of your perception that YOU run the game and YOU can prod the LIndens into removing a player who hasn't done anything wrong just because you don't like what they say about the privileged few. I haven't done a thing to violate the TOS and I've presented points that in fact a lot of people both on the forums and in the game AGREE WITH inspite of all of you and your constant intimidation.

The feted inner core idea was a literary device to get people to think. Don't confuse literature with paranoia. It sure has gotten people talking, hmm? You even have a title over your head in the game with that slogan now, hmm? People are even wearing t-shirts! Anyone studying this game impartially knows I'm on to something. It wouldn't make you so furious if I wasn't. There are some real problems with the Live Helpers and Mentors business. Indeed, that's half the reason why the Lindens started this "Concierge" thing because they realize that Live Help is inadequate and Mentor becomes more of an obstacle than a help for certain "power gamers".

You were attacked because you are an asshat, plain and simple. Attacking asshats is a local SL tradition.

No, Prokofy didn't get suspended, don't be ridiculous. Suspended for WHAT, standing up to arrogant jerks on the forum?

And not everybody thinks I"m an asshat, and even if they did, I don't care. I feel I'm right and vindicated in pressing this fight. Go over and read the other post about the nasty incident with the mentor. Really, the Lindens should be kicking ass and taking names if they care about new customers coming into this game, instead of taking the side of abusive older players or midbie players with a huge ego mania.

And no, there was no call to file an abuse report on that guy from Live Help who was bullying me about the price of land. I couldn't see any abuse of the TOS. That's because TOS does NOT explain or lay our or define the very basis for the social contract in SL itself: civil relations.

You don't scream at somebody if they asked if your event is "real" in a climate of a zillion fake events, including fake education events. You don't come over and bully somebody about the price of their land. You don't tell people on a forum that you will boycott or ruin their business. You don't say "That's not true" when someone tells you they get no actoins from the Linden on bugs.

These are just universally-recognized norms for civil behaviour. They can't always be codified. But they are part of a customer-service ethos that should be better instilled in the game.

BTW, I didn't "bring in" my alt to do anything. I was posting in the other forum about land under Dyerbrook because he bid on the auction and it's clear there that Dyerbrook-Prokofy -- any reader of Second Life Herald knows this piece of "news".

I haven't read all of the posts here (i haven't got all day) but I did read the initial post and wanted to reply.

If what you (Prokofy Neva) have said is true, then the Live Helper (I have been a live helper myself) did was wrong. When you are a representative, volunteer or not, you should act appropriately, and not be rude, an asshat, or stick your nose in others business. Your actions don't only concern yourself, but the group you are representing, and if you don't want to represent that group then you should leave.

When I was a live helper I enjoyed helping others, which I always tried to do because that's what I had volunteered to do. I am sorry that you have had bad experiences with Live help, as I am positive that the majority of helpers will be more than willing to go out of their way to help you as best they can.

Really, the Lindens should be kicking ass and taking names if they care about new customers coming into this game, instead of taking the side of abusive older players or midbie players with a huge ego mania. And no, there was no call to file an abuse report on that guy from Live Help who was bullying me about the price of land. I couldn't see any abuse of the TOS. That's because TOS does NOT explain or lay our or define the very basis for the social contract in SL itself: civil relations. You don't scream at somebody if they asked if your event is "real" in a climate of a zillion fake events, including fake education events. You don't come over and bully somebody about the price of their land. You don't tell people on a forum that you will boycott or ruin their business. You don't say "That's not true" when someone tells you they get no actoins from the Linden on bugs. These are just universally-recognized norms for civil behaviour. They can't always be codified. If what you (Prokofy Neva) have said is true, then the Live Helper (I have been a live helper myself) did was wrong. When you are a representative, volunteer or not, you should act appropriately, and not be rude, an asshat, or stick your nose in others business. Your actions don't only concern yourself, but the group you are representing, and if you don't want to represent that group then you should leave. When I was a live helper I enjoyed helping others, which I always tried to do because that's what I had volunteered to do. I am sorry that you have had bad experiences with Live help, as I am positive that the majority of helpers will be more than willing to go out of their way to help you as best they can.
