We can't let people go around acting as judge and jury. That is just stupid. Umm. But we do. We just call them judges and juries. They're still people. Anyway... The death penalty, as administered by most governments, is inefficient and dangerous (in that giving the government the authority to execute people is a dangerous precedent...). Then again, is our prison system a better deterrent? Don't know. Definitely, rapists should be castrated (and probably penctomized, since they can probably get drugs to help them get erect again). Especially pedophiles, since it's nearly impossible for them to stop otherwise. _____________________

Thankfully I live in a country where the death penalty is a historical curiousity. Yes I realise it can be frustrating when a life sentence doesnt mean life, but as Kyrah says, the death penalty places the judiciary system of that country (state, or whatever) on a par with, or even lower than the perpetrator of the crime. Why dont you focus your energy in campaigning in real life for the life sentence to mean life, instead of crying "string them up" on a forum read by a few hundred SL addicts? Because life sentences mean actually having to pay for no-gooders to stay alive. I guess it'd be a cool feature to "opt-out" of having the expenses of all the commodities of those awsome inmates charged off my taxes, and let the "life-for criminals too" pay for them... Now THAT's justice. _____________________
