From: Kiamat Dusk If you know who the innocents are who will be put to death already, you need your own hotline! Why? You don't care about them. From: someone So what are you doing to ban third trimester (and by your own definition, second trimester) abortions in your state? I'm sure it doesn't have such a ban already since every state that has passed such bans has been challenged by your friends at Planned Parenthood. There was a federal law to ban it as well, but Planned Parenthood took care of that one, too.
. Uh huh, good job reading my mind again, I'm big buddies with Planned Parenthood. How'd you know? Is there anything else you can tell me about me? My definition only includes third trimester abortions, by the way, no matter how much you try to warp it. From: someone So what actions are you taking to "do whatever [you] can within current law to limit the number of abortions"? Voting the right way. What actions are you taking to get child molesters killed? Shouldn't you be out there with a shotgun somewhere?

From: Toni Bentham Why? You don't care about them. Because you're clearly clairvoyant. Nevermind. Why do I even bother? From: Toni Bentham My definition only includes third trimester abortions, by the way, no matter how much you try to warp it.
You said: From: Toni Bentham I define a human being as one who can live outside the womb. I then demonstrated that modern medical advances have made it possible for babies born as early as the second trimester to "live outside the womb". I'm not "warp[ing]" anything. So if, given this knowledge, you still only advocate for a ban on third trimester abortions you are, by your own definition, comfortable with killing "a human being" so long as it is done in the second trimester. From: Toni Bentham What actions are you taking to get child molesters killed? Shouldn't you be out there with a shotgun somewhere?

From: Kiamat Dusk Because you're clearly clairvoyant. Nevermind. Why do I even bother? You're right, because I care about other people I'm clairvoyant. That makes perfect sense. From: someone I then demonstrated that modern medical advances have made it possible for babies born as early as the second trimester to "live outside the womb". I'm not "warp[ing]" anything. Key phrase - modern medical advances. Every baby ripped from the womb at this point would not survive on its own. So yes, you are warping. From: someone So if, given this knowledge, you still only advocate for a ban on third trimester abortions you are, by your own definition, comfortable with killing "a human being" so long as it is done in the second trimester. Well, you're comfortable killing a human being if they've done something of which you disapprove. How, again, is that better? Because you think it? And no, again by my definition, they are not a human being unless they can naturally support themselves outside the womb. From: someone I vote for politicians who support a strong capital punishment system and give my money to groups who support them as well. I really don't think that's really standing up for your beliefs, you should try being a bit more active about them and see how that works. I implement my beliefs every day by not killing anyone, I don't see why you can't.

From: Kiamat Dusk My issue is while you say this stuff, I don't sense a lot of conviction. I don't see the kind of disgust and contempt for these criminals that I would expect. I don't see the kind of stunned anger that a judge could be so foolish as to give a confessed child molester a light sentence or cheap bail. That's my issue. Aside from that, I can happily agree to disagree. We all agree that these crimes are very bad. We all agree that 18 months is too short of a sentence. Most of us would agree that a MINIMUM sentence should be 20 years in prison with no chance of parole. Just because we do not get our panties in a bunch doesn't mean we don't care. AGAIN, the only thing we are arguing is the death penalty in this type of case. THAT IS THE ONLY ARGUMENT WE ARE HAVING WITH YOU!

Well, now that we've got that cleared up maybe you can go back and answer my other questions. 1. Does your state have minimum sentences for sexual predators? 2. If not what are you doing to get them? -Kiamat Dusk

From: Sally Rosebud AGAIN, the only thing we are arguing is the death penalty in this type of case. THAT IS THE ONLY ARGUMENT WE ARE HAVING WITH YOU! Speak for yourself. I'm against all minimum sentences (sentencing is what judges are for, not legislators) and I'm also against all capital punishment. And I have the courage of my convictions, regardless of how many articles and guilt trips are thrown at me.

I never said anything for or against capital punishment in that statement.

From: Sally Rosebud I never said anything for or against capital punishment in that statement. You sure? Because here's what you wrote: From: Sally Rosebud AGAIN, the only thing we are arguing is the death penalty in this type of case. That would seem to me to be arguing against capital punishment, in this type of case. I was clarifying that not only I am against capital punishment, in this type of case, I am always against it, just as I am against unjust minimum sentences (i.e., all minimum sentences).

From: Kiamat Dusk Pay attention! I will never be opposed to the death penalty. . . That doesn't answer my questions and they are important questions in a society that allows for the death penalty. Are you saying you simply don't care how many wrongfully convicted people die or are you saying the goverment shouldn't offer some recompense for having wrongfully killed someone?

From: Armandi Goodliffe ....are you saying the goverment shouldn't offer some recompense for having wrongfully killed someone? There really is no appropriate compensation for having killed someone; no amount of money or apologies will bring them back. Regardless of what compensation you offer victims, if you kill even ONE innocent you are on the same moral plane as every murderer.

While such maybe the case for the emotional value, any calms adjustor can tell you that a person has a monetary value also. Also, penalties are more then money, they are meant to discourage people from committing a given action. Just as when you fine someone for speeding. The concept that a person's life is priceless doesn't hold up. There has always been a value assigned to it from the time Beowulf was written to the modern civil court system.

GO GATORS Right. You had a quote from me which was a response to Toni and you said that you were not part of a redneck agenda and I was wondering what part of my quote lead you to proclaim or sing or whatever, that you were not part of a redneck agenda when no one said you were in the first place. -Kiamat Dusk
