I didn't say *I* was a redneck, I was pointing out, using a line from my favorite song "American Idiot" by those great statesmen, Green Day, that I personally am not a part of the red neck agenda that espouses capital punishment.

GO GATORS

Therefore Kiamat IS part of the redneck agenda.....

The concept that a person's life is priceless doesn't hold up.

Well, then why not just fine murderers? The concept that a person's life can be absolutely broken down into dollars and cents doesn't add up, either.

From: Kiamat Dusk
Right. You had a quote from me which was a response to Toni and you said that you were not part of a redneck agenda and I was wondering what part of my quote lead you to proclaim or sing or whatever, that you were not part of a redneck agenda when no one said you were in the first place.

Ouch. My head hurts.

Texas Inmate Executed for Murder of Toddler

Wednesday, March 22, 2006

HUNTSVILLE, Texas — A man who beat his girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter to death because she was crying was executed Wednesday night.

"I am sorry that the child had to lose her life, but I should not have to be here," Robert Salazar Jr., said in a final statement. "Tell my family I love them all and I will see them in heaven."

Salazar, 27, was pronounced dead at 6:20 p.m., seven minutes after the lethal dose began to flow.

Adriana Gomez was killed in 1997. Salazar, of Lubbock, told police he pushed the girl with the back of his hand, causing her to fall down in a bathtub and hit her head.

A pathologist, however, testified that Salazar, in a violent rage, inflicted injuries on Adriana that were worse than those suffered by victims of auto accidents.

"I've never shed tears over a victim the way I did over that little girl," said Rusty Ladd, who helped prosecute the case for the Lubbock County District Attorney's Office.

The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles on Monday rejected requests to commute Salazar's sentence to life or halt the execution.

A state court and a federal appeals court turned down requests by Salazar's attorney to stop the execution based on claims the inmate was mentally retarded. There were no appeals to the Supreme Court.

Salazar was the sixth prisoner put to death this year in Texas and the second of four scheduled to die this month in the nation's busiest capital punishment state.

I gotta say, it's really nice to see how the active the RNC is, even posting in online forums. That's great, too bad they're tackling wrong issues that make them look dumb.

Good point, Taco - but most of the people in favor of the death penalty haven't expressed any concern over innocent lives lost thus far. So that point probably won't go anywhere, sadly.

Come on! Kill 'em all and let God sort them out!

We have to deter others from committing these same crimes. If that means a few innocents die, what the hell, it's worth it right?!

Micheal Jackson and OJ Simpson were aquitted, too. Oh, and Debrah LaFave's charges were dismissed. IE: Innocent doesn't always mean didn't do it.

All you anti-death penalty/pro-abortionists have zero credibility. We gotta spare convicted murderers "just in case"...but while, admittedly, we don't know when life begins-your approach is "Fuck it, kill anyway." And if years from now science proves that self awareness begins at say the second week well....oops. You don't apply your theories evenly. I think this is called...ummm...oh, yeah-hypocrisy.

There's zero credibility from the "pro-life"/pro-death penalty/pro-war front too... I believe that's called "hypocrisy" too. The term "pro-life" calls to mind people who value ALL life - even convicted murderers. Too bad most of them seem to only care about the lives of the unborn.

Yes, it does. It just doesn't always mean innocent in Kiamat's mind.

That's not a denial of guilt, Joy! :p And, I agree with you on the pro-life thing. That's why I've taken on the label "anti-abortion" vice "pro-life" because I very much believe there are people who just need to die, but that none of them are unborn babies.
