If it was related to the Load , why would it just effect xs4all subscribers ,would it not be hitting other providers ? i do know its becoming unbearable i have been waiting a week now to finish a building , LL please at least respond with something !!

Because XS4all is the only connection going through those Sprintlink servers. And I meant the load on those sprintlink servers. sorry if I wasn't clear there.

So you think because load is high sprintlink servers.... pluck out the dutch connection that runs thru it ,leaving all other providers that use that route out of the mix ? ( not other dutch providers ..US ,euros so on so on

lol no. I meant that since as far as we know our connection is the only one going through those sprintlink servers that it's when a lot of us try to connect the server starts behaving erraticly and won't hold a stable connection.

Ok I checked those Sprintlink maintenance things. right NOW they're working on them. So the connection might come back in a few hours.

Edit: Nope they're all listed as completed and nothing has changed.

I received the same e-mail from Xs4all's "Ralph".

Good to see that the story is now on nu.nl. Unfortunately the Xs4all spokesperson is quoted to say that the helpdesk received only "some reports". I wonder how many that is...

He also states that Xs4all is trying to get in contact with LL, but that they haven't responded sofar...

Well, those are the things a spokeman is supposed to say. What do you expect ? "Yeah, we have been bragging about having the best connections in the world for years, but really all our competitors offer much better connections.".

Called with LindenLabs.

A nice fellow went strawling to Muk and Moore and didn't found any problems. He was deaf for my arguments that there might be a problem with the connection between LL and XS4All. He refused to take a look at this thread and found it not necessary to do a traceroute to my private xs4all ip address.

He also stated that ADSL was not supported, because you obvious need a high speed cable connection to play SecondLife. He couldn't understand that there was no problem with lots of other sims like Ezquerra ...

Nice support, folks!

(Now I know where my US$72,= goes every year ...)

A 6Mbit line is not high speed enough for SL? Well excuse me Linden lab for not having a 20Mbit line. Geez.

Count me in. (Demon)

Experiencing these problems for more than a week.
I work for Demon and therefore was able to check everything to see if the problem was on the Demon network side (which isn't the case)

So sadly i can not log in despite trying everything.

For what it's worth, but at this moment everything is WAD - no problem whatsoever.

EDIT - 1.5 hours later - still everything ok!

EDIT 2 - unfortunately after almost 2 hours I lost connection and when I returned I got that crappy connection again... too bad this all.

Well, Tara. wait just a moment.

I see that XS4All is working on the problem, they have heared our cries. ;-)

(Just take a look at the threads in xs4all.general, there are some guys from the helpdesk from XS4All available and working on the problem).

We're also aware of this! I just edited the thread to point to our Issue Tracker:You can put further comments in there — as mentioned within, Marcoh, we traced you and it looks better now?

the problem was gone for some hours today, but came back at 22.15.

if the problem is not solved this week i ll terminate my contract with xs4all because they broke their contract: they do not delever a proper working connection!

Wrong... their connection is okay... perfect even. SWG/EQII run like hell, so there is nothing wrong at the side of XS4ALL. There is something wrong between XS4ALL and LL (Sprintnet), but that is not the responcibility of XS4ALL. All they do to help, they do for us... their part of the contract is covered.... or do you want to make XS4ALL responceable for all of the Internet?

Morwen.

LL takes actions.
04-23-2007 14:38
In the discussion at the posting of the JIRA (https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-124) you can see Linden is taken some action now.

Torley Linden is asking for ping reports from all of us. So, please don't disappoint Linden :-). E-mail a ping report from a sim with troubles to torley@lindenlab.com.

[ Show » ] Torley Linden [23/Apr/07 02:09 PM] I'm getting emails on this! Sorry I'm unable to reply to all personally but we've got the info.

In addition to what I wrote above, please provide this info. This works on Windows:
(1) Go to Start menu > Run > and open "cmd"
(2) Type in "ping [sim] -t", where [sim] is for a region you're having the aforementioned problem with. You can find it out by going to Help menu > About Second Life. For example, "ping sim1153.agni.lindenlab.com -t".
Let it run about 100 times.
(3) Right-click the output, Select All, press Enter to copy, and paste that into an email and send it to me. We'll analyze it further. Thanks!"

Getting similar issues here for the last week or so. I've even rebuilt the PC just to see if it was at my end. As soon as the connection to LL starts up then ALL my web traffic dies a death. In SL, I get periodic spikes in packet loss and it's totally unplayable.

What's going on? I'm in the UK and using Pipex as my ISP. I thought it was due to me switching to wireless, but everything else is fine...

I'm not using sprintnet or XS4ALL at any point... Pipex then alter.net then pnap.net then Linden....

Oh! gonna do a trace IMMEDIATLY

Edit: Did the trace....no difference at all from when it didn't work...but hey I can move around in problem sims and I actually have a user-ping of 200 instead of 100000
1 ... 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 ... 22
