Unable to move

Yeah whatever changed. it's REALLY bad, Even previously good sims are broken for me now.

Sims that used to work are failing now.
The connections that have been open for several hours are still working by the way.
I don't dare touch those.

This will likely go on all weekend now

I have the same problem. It was fine for a couple of days and now it has gone bad again.

I am also from Holland and I also use xsforall (formerly demon).

I am a die hard xs4all client but now beginning to think about changing providers.........this is no fun anymore!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it seems that every sim in IP range 64.129.45.* and 64.129.46.* is now also not accessible for me anymore. Can somebody in Linden tell use if they change something. And can they somehow undo it also.

For what its worth, indeed, Amazingg (a private island) was a refuge for me where I even could camp.
Thanks for the recent sneekey changes mr X Linden! Now Amazingg is lost for me too.
I bought some cheap land just to have an accessible home, now I have to fear this will too become conficated.

And indeed, if I loose this property too I will turn my back on this bottomless pit of arrogance calling themselve a provider -- yeah you all know which company I mean.

11 days without Second Life, named now No Life/

Yesterday I bought land on a sim that was stable for me. That sim has been stable for the past 11 days. That was, until last night. I was there with a friend, building when suddenly both pings went to 10000 pings and I couldn't move anymore.

I am SO annoyed. I bought that land because I knew it was stable, what with all the problems we've been having with XS4ALL. I thought at least, I can DO something there. Now it looks like that's gone too.

Well, SOMEONE must know something, and basically SOMEONE isn't doing their job right. But whatever, I don't care anymore.

Today we're looking at new providers to end this crap once and for all.

Nephrite Island is normal this morning, didnt try out other sims. Thats something.
Now the other news: I know a guy in SL who has also XS4ALL as his provider and has no problems. A few days ago he had some tp problems but thats it. What does that mean? Can we investigate something what's the difference between him and us?
Anyone suggestions how to use this to learn something more?

Annabelle, the best thing if he is with XS4All en has no problems on the 69.* or 72.* sims, then he needs to give his IP-number to Timo (from XS4All) maybe then he can, with Lindens help do a back trace to his IP number and a bad IP number and look at the difference. Maybe so close down on where the problem is. If they somehow not already know.

Maybe you could give this guy a LM to a 'bad' sim. Also wondering if he's even seen this thread or perhaps he's just been lucky enough not to go to any of the 'bad' sims yet.

Also an update to my previous post. My new land seems to be okay again. Except ping user is still showing 10000, and that's still not right.

Today I tried to login on a friend's pc (yes, xs4all) and after 4mins I couldn't move and had to logout. Then went to my own appt. (same building) and logged in there using my Versatel account, no more probs..everything ran smooth. I think xs4all should be renamed to xs4no1. And companies pointing fingers to one another isn't really helping. I feel for the xs4no1 users, hope this gets fixed for you guys!

Well, to my feeling it is still out of reach of XS4ALL themselves. All they can do is contact "those higher up" in the network infrastucture and ask them to clear up their stuff.

I mean, I play also SWG... no problem at all. Perfect connection... no lag, no packetloss or anything. Same goes for everything else... it is as fast as normal without any problem at all.

And if it is really is out of controle of XS4ALL (what I really think it is), then is no good to blame them for it.

Edit: It seems that my home sim (Maia) is okay. I do have packetloss, but I don't freeze or crash. I can actually move very normally.
When I TP to the sim with my gallery (ChangMi) that it is after a few steps over and I freeze up.

Look, i dunno about you but I have been on line with the helpdesk of xs4all for 1 hour on the 3rd day this happened.

That person helping me used winMTR on his own account and got the bad results we have all seen in the last 11 days

On his work account, at xs4all HQ the numbers where normal !!!

So when timo plays secondlife (only for test purposes, off course! ) on THAT account and not via a normal account like us, he will never solve the problem.

As the problem only excists on xs4all account sl members it must be a returning channel that gets blocked by some sort of filter xs4all has installed to block some bad thing for us.
So start to look at channels 12000-15000 on the inbound traffic. that is my thinking at this time.
Hell, I'm no internet wizz but tihs happened on the 17th of april. what did xs4all do in the night between 16th and 17th?
Why is there no newsgroups of forum for this problem to discuss with other xs4all users?
this forum only gives a bad name to xs4all and nobody ever answers anything or rules out anything. Do they still have no clue?
Is xs4all taken over by KPN completely? I am not used to this kind of problems taking this long while xs4all was still the real xs4all I know since the first days they delivered internet in my house.

I will not leave xs4all again. Not for something like this. This will be solved, im sure it will. its just bad that it takes this long, but it will probably proove that the problem is outside xs4all. Well i just spoke agains myself. I guess i hope that this little contribution helps to ignite a spark so the problem is solved soon

is there a list on SL that shows a servername with an ip address? Would come in handy as long as this goes on.

We are paying a service to XS4ALL for a connection that we can not use as we should be able to. It doesn't matter who is at fault here, it is still XS4ALL's responsibility to serve it's paying customers and to DO something about it should that connection fail.

This has gone on for 11 days and each company, XS4ALL, Sprintlink and LL are passing the buck so to speak, and yes perhaps each one of those has tried to fix the probem but to no avail. So what now, just give up?

Basically it's just as bad as day one, if not worse. Let's face facts here, it is still XS4ALL's paying customers that are affected. Period. If it was another provider that had the same problem in The Netherlands then fine, but it's not. So XS4ALL need to deal with it and FIX it, one way or another.

Reading over the posts it seems XS4ALL won't do anything else about it, because they believe it's not their problem anymore. Well thank you!

So where does that leave us?

Awws...poor girl! I'm suppose to have a business meeting later today but the guy I was suppose to meet emailed me saying: "Sorry Mandy......ik heb xs4all.......*zucht*" There goes a good deal!! GRRRR!

Have been reading this thread with interest as two of my friends are among those severely affected by this problem (Hello Mandy L. <g>. Maybe if some of you are thinking of switching from XS4ALL, the best thing to do might be to all cancel at the same time, they might take the hint then

Yes, on jira I have commented on this. The traces we received from Linden show that the routes to xs4all HQ use level3.net instead of sprintlink...

There is: xs4all.general or xs4all.adsl

At this moment all the regions that gave me problems seem to work as they should be.
I keep fingers, arms, legs and toes crossed...

Bad as ever for me ........ i was hoping it would be same as yesterday and maybe get 3 hours being able to build on my own land , but no ............ * reaches for an even BIGGER Gin&Tonic

Ok...after logging in and out, it seems to be working agian for me. Redoing my previous traces shows NOTHING has changed :/

Why does it work now? What is the cause!
