I would imagine the same reason people try to silence people who make racist or homophobic statements - people generally don't like to see other people facing the prejudice of someone else. We have no ability to silence him anyway, but people can push back against someone. The whole freedom of speech argument you are touting here cuts both ways.

He has made moral pronouncements against a whole group of people - I believe "lowest common denominator" was the term he used. Then he says he's Christian and that Jesus caught flak for hanging out with the "lowest of the low." Then in another post, he suggests making it possible to ban an entire group from his land because he does not want SGs on his land.. Who is the hypocrite here?

You are the person comparing apples and oranges. You can't tell a paying customer of a service they should be silenced because they happen to (possibly illegally) work for the same company for free. You can comparing real world non-profit volunteers to virtual volunteer for a for-profit corporation. There is no comparision, so just STOP.

When someone is going to post blanket attacks against an entire group of people, they better be ready for opposition and people calling the attacker into question for their own beliefs that they are touting.

No one is holding a gun to his head to volunteer to be a greeter. Personally, I hold any volunteer (for any kind of organization) to be a proxy representative of the company they are volunteering for.
