Yah and if I were to find your RL house and just wander in and explore would you say oh it's just exploring or would you call the police? Make all the excuses you want. You have zero respect for other people as evidenced by your continued defense of your group. You are an immature disrespectful griefer nothing more. And your banned from my property and if any of your group comes near it they will be banned also.

Ok heres another thing SL IS NOT RL

I hate to break it to you but SL is full of RL people and this doesn't have to be RL to show a little respect for other people. SL isn't a license to trample all over other people just because "it's not RL" that is the lamest excuse you could dream up.

Fine you want pics of my skybox from the outside? Go 700m into the air in any sim and take a picture. My box is surrounded by invisiprims in order to see anything but empty sky you have to go in or cam in.

I think most are missing the point on this. THIS IS A GAME hello ?

I just got this crazy cartoon image of someone flying happily along and WHAM! face plant into empty air.

I mean it's a funny image in my head even if I know personally this would be incredibly annoying as a reality.

How many excuses do you want to come up with to not respect other people?

Trixy,

How about you ask people if they want to let you see their skyboxes?

This would fall under harassment and stalking, both of which the Lindens frown on.

Now Trixy, you want your group members to take pictures of the outside of Skyboxes, write a review with the location and send it to you to host on your club?

The purpose of which being, you want more people to go and check out those skyboxes?

Now, this might work for clubs, which are public gathering places, but by default skyboxes are very private places, regardless of the absence of security scripts or any of the land options you mentioned. People make those skyboxes to not get the same kind of attraction that say a club would like to get.

Thus, I think you should change your group charter and refocus on something like "Club Review" or something similar.

What your suggesting here just would not fly.

One idea is to just make it about great builds. Display pictures of things in SL (the outsides) that you think are good builds and deserve some publicity and just leave skyboxes out of it.

NP at all I am very surprised at the responce that this has recived. It not about breaking in at all it about finding a "interesting" build in the sky thats it so if all you have is some simple thing in the sky your place wont be botherd. Look I have come home and found people on my land and I was nice and pleasent after all I know this is a game and no law is broke and no sign of disrespect was intended. Look dont perpitrate your fears into this post you have nothing to fear. I still bet that 3/4 of you still havent droped by the place , one of the places featured on our review wall isnt even a house its simply a interesting build in the sky , imagin that?

I keep a lot of works-in-progress in my private skybox. If I suddenly found a big thread exposing (1) the location of my building skybox, or (2) one of my new projects that I'd planned to keep a surprise I'd be quite upset. many other content creators are the same way.

If you go wandering into the White House yard with a camera you're likely to get thrown off the premises. Same thing here, the last thing we need are paparazzi.

SL is more than "just a game" to some people. Learn to understand that. :)

Personally, I find skyboxes to usually be rather dull and repetitive. I'll drop a book on you inworld, free to distribute. It's made by Scrap Book, who has a real knack for inworld photography. A copy of the book is also available (public viewing) in Awa (195, 148, 23)

Yep another example for a Doc. Phill show. SL is a game based on the players builds.

LOL, admiring a build when no one is around isn't harassment or stalking by any stretch of the imagination. I never understood why people get so territorial about sky boxes. If someone stops by while you are not there and admires your work, what harm does it do?

Personally I don't hesitate to check out a cool skybox if no one is home. I don't usually go inside, but only because it's easier to just cam in. If anything it's a compliment on their building skills.

Now if there are people in there of course I don't go snooping. That would be a rude invasion of privacy. Just looking around when no one is home is harmless.

Anyone is welcome to use mine while I am offline. Just be polite and don't leave a mess. :)

Edit: That goes for the builds on the ground too really.

I have to agree with Psyra. I know you can't keep people from looking around in a sky build, because people can get around just about any security measure, but I wouldn't want people coming by repeatedly, or landmarking the place. Sky builds are up there for a reason; if they were meant to be open to the public, they'd be on the ground.

That is a good point. But as land owner you do have the ability to make it so that no one can make a landmark while on your land. At least we did last time I looked. I presume through all the updates that it's still there, but I haven't checked in ages.

To you it's a game. To others it's more than that. It's an online world. Hopefully a world where people treat each other with civility. While I'm sure you had nothing but the purest intentions, there are lots of people on this forum who take their SL privacy very seriously, and what you want to do goes directly against that.

A couple tips for your group: When you find a skybox that has any green dots in it, fly on by and leave it alone. Never enter anyone's skybox, even when it's empty. Then your exploration shouldn't bother anyone. A little respect for others goes a long way, even in a game.

And if your store is where your land is?

Best to ask, really...

That's why I wouldn't disable landmarks.... my store is on my land. However, I have plenty of room left on my ban list. :)

Its about finding a interesting build not just any old home and I fail to see why that point is not noticed ?
