Well at least now skybox owners have a warning of who to add to their ban lists.

That should crank up the parnoia factor among the sky box people. The security script industry should pay you for this Rox

From: Jon Rolland And I would definately call intentional invasion of privacy griefing. However, invasion of privacy is not listed in the ToS or Community Standards. I just reread both, btw.

??? wow nothing wrong with exploring after all this game is based on what people build . Spicaly now with instant TP's one never flys around any more. Look simply put if I had have asked for pics of interesting builds there would have been no neg feed back. After all this is no different and last time I checked we were aloud to fly ? and people were still able to set there land settings to keep unwanted people away and prevent bookmarking of places?

You're right, if you had asked people to send you pictures of their skyboxes you wouldn't have any complaints and probably lots of proud people sending you pics. What you are advocating doing instead is sneaking onto their property and taking pictures of their private space. From: someone Mission... Home and Garden magazine gets permission from people before printing pictures of their living rooms, they don't sneak in while the occupants aren't home, take pictures and sit around and critique them.

From: Jon Rolland And I would definately call intentional invasion of privacy griefing. How is exploring considered privacy griefing? How is exploring "intentional invasion of privacy"? If someone made a group that was called "Really cool looking houses!", would you call that a group that intentionally invades people's privacy as well?

Thanks for explanation. Covertly. Understood. When I originally read it I didn't take it as something where people would go inside and take pictures--I was thinking of it being just the outside.

Actually it is different from asking for pics. Skyboxs are usually intended to gain privacy by being out of the way of casual exploration. If you ask for pics then people give you that info. If you search out the skyboxes you take their privacy with no regard for what the owner wants. And Linden provided land controls only cover to 50m unless a person is explicitly banned. That is not near high enough to cover a skybox.

If someone made a group that was called "Really cool looking houses!", would you call that a group that intentionally invades people's privacy as well? For many people a skybox is a place they don't want anyone to see, that's why its in the sky. If the group advocated only taking a picture of the outside of the people's houses then no it wouldn't matter but if they snuck in while no one was home and photographed rooms inside without permission then yes it would be an invasion of privacy. The home I share with my partner is on an island where we welcome exploring, we have it all set up so there is lots of beautiful spots to wander. But our home is our home, if we log in to find people sitting around in our living room (who aren't our friends), believe me we get annoyed.

Heres the prob I used the word "covertly" and the reason I chose that word was to make the the hole group look that much more interesting. Seems to be doing its job.... Look all the group is, is a exploration group , takening pic's of interesting builds BIG DEAL!! Its not to spy on people or go on land that we arnt supose to be its about haveing a avtive group doing something besides a "best in red" event or some other dam thing.

Your first explanation told me everything I needed to know though. I was being naive when I read the starting post of this thread--when I originally read it I didn't take it as something where people would go inside and take pictures--I was thinking of it being just the outside.

I didn't mention "people watching" anywhere, I wasn't assuming that. But are you saying you plan to only take pictures of the outside of a box in the sky?

Yah and if I were to find your RL house and just wander in and explore would you say oh it's just exploring or would you call the police? Make all the excuses you want. You have zero respect for other people as evidenced by your continued defense of your group. You are an immature disrespectful griefer nothing more. And your banned from my property and if any of your group comes near it they will be banned also.

From: Trixy Perhaps ITS NOT ABOUT GOING INSIDE !! MY God people Fine you want pics of my skybox from the outside? Go 700m into the air in any sim and take a picture. My box is surrounded by invisiprims in order to see anything but empty sky you have to go in or cam in.
