Look at the names of the ridiculers in this thread, Lewis, and others reading this. They run this game. They use derision and ridicule - en masse - to make fun of who they want to, because they disagree with that person's ideas.

the freedom for anyone to create and sell content is being gamed such that there is a lot of mediocre and even ugly content out there!

LL, please put a stop to letting just anyone rez a prim. for example look at other succesful games like WOW and There, where players cannot just upload a funy texture and sell tshirts.

They don't believe I should be allowed to say such controversial, hideous things. So they respond with mass ridicule like the babies they are.

They very much don't want me, Coco, to speak on these forums, or to persuade others, regarding fairness or anything.

They care not for anyone's feelings but their own hyena-like amusement.

They are like an abusive spouse one should leave. One sticks around for months on end in virtual disbelief that (a) people could actually be like this, rather than serious about ideas and respectful towards others' ideas, (b) that the Lindens allow it, and (c) that these particular individuals actually do run this game and these forums.

But they do - and as such, they act as a very abusive spouse that ruins enjoyment of and participation in a marriage, or in this case, a game. I really don't think it is possible to speak on these boards without their approval, otherwise you come in for their RELENTLESS abuse. They aren't about to let go of a dribble of their group power.

It sucks. And I'm willing to tell everyone that this is the way it is.

If someone doesn't like what I create in Second Life, should I expect to be placated by other residents when I start a thread complaining about how some people don't like my stuff?

Why the expectation that we should all be kissing each other's butts? The nice thing about SL is that unlike TSO we're not a bunch of 16 year olds. We're adults and we should be able to trake our lumps. If you put something out there, expect to have it criticized one way or the other. And for god's sake, don't whine about it when you don't get 5 stars. Grow up.

The thread was started because the star system sucks. People who advertise in the Classifieds know this.

Actually it's for going on and on and on and on and on and on about a subject that has throughly covered. You never did respond to my challenge to do something positive and proactive on this subject instead of ranting.

Or.. the people who 1-starred your threads and products know that it would get your goat. You said you don't care, but you keep posting about how much it upsets you. I would recommend getting a thicker skin if you are going to be a content creator... you can never please everyone, if something you made pleases you.. who cares about the rest? Looking outside for validation and confirmation of worth is doomed to disappointment.

No, I think it's because a fair number of people think you are a pain in the arse. Nothing to do with issues, just your delivery.

P.S. Chip, the forum software DOES enable them to disable ratings, on a forum by forum basis, simply by clicking "no." Check out vbulletin.com for confirmation of this.

This idea of trying to appeal to me to give up the things I care about, and the priciples I stand for, because the same certain names in thread after thread have decided I'm a pain won't work. I couldn't care less. I don't respect these people anymore, so that won't work.

Yes; as you will notice, people will attack you and will attempt to derail this thread because they can't have a conversation about the issue. It's a well-seasoned tactic by some forum dwellers.
