From: Newfie Pendragon Of that I am sure. LL doesn't have a history of listening to those outside the range of their nose, so...not likely that they'd change that at this point. - Newfie Odd, I seem to recall LOTS of forum threads, town meetings, and OTHER venues where LL discussed and/or solicited opinions and ideas from the residents of SL. It has just become harder for them to do lately with the growth of SL being so large. Of course i have been here since beta, so I have had the opportunity to see more of this. Oh wait. You have been here since Dec 2003. I have to wonder where your head is, if YOU missed all that.

Ya know, I was originally one of the 8 selected to go to LL. Unfortunately I had to decline. LL refused to provide diaper changes, clean the lice outta my wings, or feed me. Iam still breast feeding dontcha know.

From: katykiwi Moonflower Well Weedy, and Siggy, without pointing fingers, we ALL seem to have our harpy moments where we cant help but complain...ALL OF US! Just because this isnt your issue doesnt mean it lacks merit for others. If its not your issue then why not just ignore it rather than use it as an opportunity for personal attacks agaisnt another member you dont like. Sounds like a STFU to me Alas I have an opinion and I'll voice it as I choose. Now if you'll be so kind as to show where I've made these personal attacks in this thread? Dissagreeing isn't a personal attack. Saying 'Hey - but isn't this just like the group you formed' (Which I remember pretty well you were a part of as well) is not a personal attack either. So I guess I must ask - you seem well on giving the advice to STFU.. so what are your reasons for not doing just as you ask others?

From: Cristiano Midnight It is because only Lewis Nerd's opinions are representative of the majority, and only he knows how best for LL to run their system. Everyone else is just biased and do not have the interests of everyone in mind. Thank heaven for Lewis. At last, you finally understand. Thank you for recognising how much I can improve this game for everyone. Lewis

From: Jopsy Pendragon Bring on the popularity contest! Woo Hoo! .
Couldn't have said that better myself. And whats so bad about them picking people themselves, who obviously use the system, and probably share the same directions as they want to go? Thats the problem I have seeing the 'unfairness' of it all hehe.

Lewis I think therein lies the problem. The company doens't see it as a game - and doesn't want it to be a game... so thats probably the reason in a nutshell why you won't get asked. I mean I won't either - I see it as a lego set - and certainly not as seriously as a lot of folks do. I'm interested to see where it's all going though.

From: Weedy Herbst It's insulting to the people who provide your entertainment, it's an attack upon those they selected, and moreover, it's an embarassment to the entire community.
You now speak for the entire community, do you?

I've laid this thread to rest and closed it. This, to be positive, is an archetypical Second Life forums thread: there are the usual points, and counterpoints, and now it's been committed to digital text for further generations to read--and hopefully learn from--should they come across it. These aren't things specific to SL either, but perhaps as part of a broader view, shows what's human about us. And to some, lack of that humanity. As always, personal disputes don't have a place being aired out in public here: Private discussions – the forums are a public area for the Second Life community’s use. Individuals who have a dispute with each other have other channels of communication to discuss their differences or communicate – private messaging, IM within Second Life, or chatting within Second Life. Also, threads that are addressed to a single individual or group are inappropriate on the forums, this includes slander or "naming names" in a posts title, starting polls about a particular resident or group, etc.
Per the forum Guidelines. But, I'd like to say I'm appreciative how civil this has been--for this most part. Thank you. I'd also like to thank each and every one of you here who's interacted with me. Some days, it's difficult to put up with the angry shouting, but I just have to keep remembering and repeating to myself that socializing and communicating is better than being alone for the most part, which was my previous state of existence. Those who never knew me pre-SL may find that hard to believe, but: people can change. For the better. I really do believe this. *huggerz*
