I think she meant she wants to meet a "real" straight man who has those qualities which she is looking for in a man. (she might be better off defining those so people can help tell her where to look)

I think what we all want in virtual or real relationships is a partner(s) that has enough of the qualities which we desire and a limited number of those we dont.

Here is Elinea's conundrum: the men of Gor believe that Earth men are weak and neurotic, overly feminized by our culture. So she could join Gor but only if she agrees to wear revealing silks, kneel before her Master and obey without question. It might just turn into a win/win situation.

I hadn't thought much of Elinea's original post - lots of folks I encounter every day in SL are looking for good partners. I took her remark about "real man" to simply be her own shorthand for macho or commanding or whatever. No big deal.

But she's sabotaged my empathy with her subsequent posts. Not only has she shown her own prejudices but she's been condescending in the process to people who disagreed.

Fellow SLites, everybody in the world has prejudices. I have 'em, you have 'em, even Eggy has 'em. Most of those prejudices arise from our upbringing and environments, I think, more so than choice. SOME of us have managed to overcome those. Others of us have made self-discoveries that also lead us toward a better understanding of human nature. But that doesn't mean it's ok for us to turn around and pass the same judgments on bigots that we now begrudge, does it?

What's the favorite popular saying of the anti-gay crowd? "Love the sinner, hate the sin"? How about "Love the bigot, hate the bigotry"?

Why attack the OP for knowing what she wants in a relationship? I wont even say virtual relationship because it sounds like she wants the same in and out of game.

As for the OP, this seems like a very traditional attitude. In many primitive cultures you're only a "real man" if you've shown yourself willing and able to get a woman pregnant.

Gorean Free Women don't wear revealing anything, don't kneel, are highly respected by Free Men, are often powerful/wealthy, and often own slaves themselves.

I am not in anyway "anti-gay" and this is a rule that I, and other Christians, live by. It means that, while homosexuality may be a sin (as we believe), it's no greater sin than any we've committed or will commit. God does not "hate a fag". He loves all of His children.

The BDSM community has an overlapping relationship with the Gay Leather community and I have gay and lesbian friends in both. My leather sister is a lesbian, she knows my views, and it hasn't stopped us from being as close as blood.

In fact, for someone talking about overcoming prejudices, your post is packed full of them. It just seems that some prejudices are more socially acceptable than others.

In these forums it's perfectly acceptable-almost en vogue- to hate Christians and Conservatives after all.

You wont find any "Real" men on SL cause their all virtual. If you want to find real man I suggest joining a rl dating agency or switiching off your pc and getting out a bit more.
