From: Valerius Constantine "laid back"? "pedaling back" is more like it! I wouldn't want to have to come to us with LL's decision on definitions if I'd been telling everyone what Blondin has been telling them either. ^V^ Blondin is just following the Ll reality. they always institute these things and never administer them. So his version of the truth will be the reality for most.. Until an AR kicks in. So I'm going with anything that was said when there was a lawyer (or two.. they really are scared of us) is present during the utterance. I've just discovered how hard it is to make a free sex room in an igloo.. so no snow bunnies however, my untold millions (ok, possibly in the tens rather than the millions) of franchisees (and not Meta's lost millions. mine are less fanciful) should be quite happy with the results of becoming a reseller.. I've certainly ticked enough of the list to get my new business folk on the transfer list and hopefully get the move. I cannot believe that LL would crush legitimate businesses that by their very nature cannot possibly stay on mature by not offering them a swap. Only time will tell I suppose..

Meta's Lost Millions
05-19-2009 23:09
I think the only way we are going to make Linden Labs stand up and notice is by showing them what "lost millions" feels like in the pocket. It is easy to say that SL has so much potential to draw in millions of new users, while knowing the current users aren't going anywhere and neither is their money. It is time to seriously start considering a day, even a week of "lost millions". I realize some people rely completely on the money they make in SL, but at what cost? I'm not sure I'd feel better knowing I stuck through to the end without hitting their bottom line, only to see my business fail completely. How much can we afford? A day? A week? What about forever?
Linden Labs is counting on the residents who will just go along and PAY FOR IT, and THAT is insulting. Please consider cutting back, whether it be time spent in world, businesses cashing out, removing funds, tiering down, or just simply not spending. I do not believe these changes will not hurt in the long term. That is wishful thinking on the Linden's part. If a business is forced to close, does LL consider that a short term loss? How about the business owner? Affecting the bottom line is the only way LL will take note of what they are doing. It may also give many of us a more accurate gage as to what things will be like in SL after these changes take place.

https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/features/blog/2007/05/05/age-and-identity-verification-in-second-lifeWhile I was moving through the forums, I came across this. It was mentioned already in these forums that LL already tried to press the Age-Verification on us back in 07 and there was an original post. It seems to have been removed, but the comments are still there. It was interesting to go back and read through them. The comments are dated 09, but that is an error.

Now we have more shineys coming to an SL near you: https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/features/blog/2009/05/20/over-15-billion-voice-minutes-servedFrom: someone Tomorrow, Wednesday, May 20 at 9AM PT we’re excited to introduce AvaLine, a new service which enables Residents to receive voice calls inworld from an outside number. This marks the first time a Resident will be able to communicate with a non-Second Life user within Second Life. The service goes into a Beta trial on Wednesday and will launch as a full offering in Q3. Gonna be great for the phone sex trade lol

From: Ryanna Enfield Or Telemarketers. Yay! First we had automatic group joiners now Telemarketers lol The only time I have had voice switched on has been for those sick bag meetings, but I never used the mic lol As its incoming calls I wonder how much a cut per call minute LL are going to get and what sort of premium rate it is going to cost those calling in world. Give me Skype anytime at least thats reliable and what I use if I have to have voice contact with anyone in game

That is just to funny especially when the larger part of SL's population is outside the USA and personally how many will really want to access the FBI's most wanted list from inside SL Is this new ad farmers? We should report any FBI ad farms pmsl

Is the Church going in for ad farming with Linden approval?

We should report any FBI ad farms pmsl Talking of ad farmers (while we wait for some more relevant announcements from Blondin. Cyn or Jack) Has anyone notice a proliferation of Christian Crosses and Praying points asking for donations? Some with spinning suns and crosses etc. I've come across quite a few now occupying the old abandoned 16sqm parcels by the road sides. There are at least 3 in my region alone which is a mature highly sexed up mainland with our 2 year old bdsm themed sin bin. At first I thought they were harmless but I have started to get reports from other folks who who host mainland adult content and who have also spotted the crosses going up. So I inspected one or two and the creator name is one Eric Linden - what's that all about I wonder? You can see a sample here... http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/masterlasher/ChristianAdFarmers#This might have been going on for years and I have no idea why Eric Linden's name is down as the creator - perhaps someone reading this can enlighten me ^L^

Eric Linden is a content Linden who has created many things in SL over the years, most notably are various bridges. Eric also built the old Welcome Areas in Ahern (since deleted) and Plum/Lime.

Retrieved from "http://secondlife.wikia.com/wiki/Eric_Linden" Also consider it is possible for someone to have used something Eric made in order to link his name to their objects, thus making him appear the original creator. It would make more sense if Eric were to use his alt for making religious content, thus not tying his Linden name to a particular religion. Perhaps he is unaware? Is he a part of the group listed in the edit? I don't know, it just seems odd a Linden would put up obvious religious content asking for donations under their actual Linden name. I'd question it.

From: Valerius Constantine Oh my. Sorry, I just snorted blood again ^V^ It was a drop in the setup fees that led to the whole void sim bubble in the first place. And naturally, LL got bashed for dropping prices at the time too.

I'd report it. While it may be legit, scammers are known to use those little plots. I used to find a lot of those pyramid schemes on them. Either way it doesn't hurt to make sure. And just using something that a linden made would cause me to question it that much more

So we need this why? LL does realize that most of us know what Skype is, right?

LL does realize that most of us know what Skype is, right? LOL yep Skype is so much more reliable, well it was for me when I was in UK before moving to Holland to be with my good lady, we played SL and Skyped for hours at the same time. So I will always use Skype over any voice offerings LL gives us

There are at least 3 in my region alone which is a mature highly sexed up mainland with our 2 year old bdsm themed sin bin. Maybe they are supposed to be BDSM crosses? Either way, if they break the ad rules I would say AR them, listing all of the violations in the report, the rules are: * The land the advertising is on is not for sale. * No more than 50 advertising locations owned by a single individual, whether personally owned or via groups in which you are a member. * No more than 1 advertising placement by an individual in any single region. * Advertising should be grounded to the terrain, not floating. * Advertising should extend no higher than 8m from the ground. * No rotating, no flashing content and no particles. * No unsolicited dispensing of IMs, notecards, landmarks or content. * No light sources or glow (full bright is acceptable however). * Advertising should be Phantom. * Advertising must be clearly PG in nature. * No sound and no temp-on-rez content. * Ban lines should be switched off. I would also say a christian cross advertises adult content because of the violence it has historically promoted.

As i said its all about the cash, just another way to milk us customers lol well this customer will continue to use Skype as its free, but noticed the following comment From: someone One service, called "Dial an Avatar," lets players call other characters in the virtual world, or dial into a virtual meeting from their cell phone—even when they're not sitting in front of their browser. Back to SL is for business meetings Mantra LL are continually saying. Its an Entertainment platform not a serious business application as has been shown time and time again. I wonder when they will get it through their skulls and concentrate in doing what this platform is good for and thats entertainment Just my opinion though

From: Lord Sullivan LOL well you have been here long enough to become cynical or a conspiracy theorist HAHA QFT What baffels me is LL has been putting in a railroad, I guess for years, no one bothered to tell me until someone in favor of it IM's me out of the blue ripping me up one side and down another for not being a good resident by not letting the RR go through my sim. (I've got no clue how long I was being bashed in the forums since I stopped reading them, and that was the first I had heard of it.) Once someone from LL finally contacted me in a way that wasn't just "Hey, give us this section of land you paid for" I was more then happy to work things out. Unfortunatly even though that was like...2 months ago, looks like I might have to move again once this all plays out. I kind of wonder if they didn't just let people get mad at me so someone would run me out of my sim I owned for about 3 years so they wouldn't have to do anything. They did do something really cool for me once we did get it worked out though, seems there is a little sign in Sinica thanking me for the help in getting the Rail Road through the sim. I was like "Wow, I'm a permanent part of SL now!" Also the parcel says something to the same effect. Maybe I should go crawl under a rock so they don't take it down.
