But I'll see about uploading a seven minute Goldberg session video to Youtube; It was a Goldberg device set up that literally looped through (and interacted with) elements of an entire sim. Things like bouncing a cannon-shot ball off the eaves of a building to precisely scoot it into a basket, which then lowered on a "wire" (Rope constraint script), onto a lever, which dropped dominoes, and... well, let's just say it was rather fun to make.

Nany, I can tell by viewing your profile that you have recently joined Second Life. No, Second Life will not "be fine". Sex has been a part of Second Life ever since llSitTarget was implemented alongside .BVH imports. People have multiple accounts; They have accounts for sexual purposes and they have accounts for nonsexual purposes. They have accounts that with hidden groups, and a cleaner avatar, serve both purposes. One of the greatest scripters I work alongside also has her own private sexual life on Second Life. By your token word, about how people with a sex life do not meaningfully participate on Second Life, you have shown me just how little time you spend interacting with the diverse culture of Second Life. I interact by building vehicles, and advanced physical dynamics; Guns that can successfully shoot down an incoming shell, dynamic fireworks displays, Rube Goldberg looping ball machines, self-aiming cannons which can precisely throw an object from Point A to Point B. By the very definitions of what is being suggested here, I am adult content in my "violent and dangerous" explorations of the finer details of the physics engine in a world without death. I find your lack of an open mind and sweeping categorization of whole groups as a mindset very unfit for a community outreach specialist or educator, Nany Kayo. I sincerely hope you have other qualifications rendering you suitable for your job, as your mindset is incompatible. Tell me something, Linden: Which do you think is more important to me as an educational service provider and business consultant? So anybody who owns at least, say, a 512m2 of land in a mainland sim should never be prevented from getting to their land due to the sim being full? /me does the math.. regions are 65k m2, mainland is capped at 40 people.. hm... Maybe LL should make special circumstances for Adult continent knowing how popular will become....no reason why they can't set an 80 Avatar limit .....similar to Class 5 estates (100 AV's) |

Anshe Chung is one of, if not the most, successful land owner/developer in all of SL! Comments like that show your ignorance and your intolerance despite how loud you try to protest.
I have never done the "escort" thing. I worked at a mall as customer service when I first came to SL. I now have a successful club that holds events EVERY night and draws 10-20 people each time, and DOES NOT offer sex of any kind. I also have a small business that pays the tier and allows me to develop new products. My whole issue is that be cause some of my content, about 25%, would be considered "adult", I now have to "register" through some age verification system and be forced to move my business, my club and my home to some other land. Just because some prissy ass debutante doesn't want to see something. I don't think so. I will remove my L$ 50,000 per month from SL first, at least half of that is paid in tier to LL and another 25% is paid as upload fees. I may not make much of an impact by myself, but get enough people like me doing the same thing and it will add up quickly. |

When I first started in SL I read three books about SL. Two were programming oriented and the third one was; "second life the official guide". There is an interesting chapter in the book giving an overview of the history of SL. I found it interesting that at one point in the development of the game there was a revolt over changes to the policies. The Lindens were charging "tax" on the items that users were creating in-world. The revolt was successful. I recommend that anyone who is interested should find a copy of the book and read about the revolt.
I was all set to quit SL, but I just couldn't do it. I must be getting something out of participating in SL that enriches my life. I have decided to stage my own little protest. I have modified my land to violate every aspect of the new rules. I am waiting to see what happens next! |

I'm Xeandra Claveau ive come to Secondlife since 2005 FOR its adult content! I have a four year old daughter and in my everyday life I have to be tame a mother and censor myself. Secondlife is where i've come to be uncensored and follow any deisre i want within the guidlines of secondlife. it's simply laughable that linden labs thinks only 2-4% of the 'content'in SL is "Adult" I havent seen a PG sim in several months. This would seriously effect my timespent and MONEY spent in secondlife. And what you'd concider adult is simply unfair. If a sim is marked MAture its got mature content simply let those that dislike it not vist . This land merger and new regime simply isnt sensble. My point is you have your majorties and your minorties mixed around.

Gosh why does it say quote "Your World Your Imagination" ??? that false advertising to me since its not anymore it was when i joined years ago, then it got so crowded with so many people and thats fine but you cant have it to where theres no imagination?? and Why does it have to be child safe??
