Now, that's a whole lot of insanity for one woman to be carrying. Since this woman has a child, I really hope she is getting the treatment she needs. It's just utterly tragic that something tipped her over the edge to such an extent.

It really doesn't matter that I got it wrong about it being a doctor, or that they were not sacked, they were however suspended which is a very strange thing to have a concerned authority to do when it also has an obligation to not do so. You know full well that the point I was making was that people don't come forward exactly for these reasons.

A fair question. Usually I ignore them: the internet is a big place and they'll let just anybody in. I can deal with people who simply don't know something: I work in informal education, and helping people to find out how to get information is what I enjoy doing. But I am becoming more and more annoyed with willful ignorance: those people who are proud of their ignorance and who attempt to willfully suppress information and spread the sort of anti-intellectual, paranoid, and self-serving tripe that this person has been spouting.

What has me particularly stirred up in this case is that this type of disinformation is not just incorrect: it is harmful to the health and well-being of those who fall for it. Perhaps by at least poking the troll until it spits bile, we can help others from being taken in by this sort of homicidal ignorance.

I will agree that there needs to be a healthy skepticism of both the pharmaceutical/medical professions and of natural remedies, but i am also willing to accept the place of each. I have a selection of herbal teas, and I think that good nutrition is a key to overall good health. I even try to purchase organically grown foods in order to reduce intake of pesticides and antibiotics. I also think that there are times when medical professionals and modern treatments are helpful, if not necessary. But I also feel that in the end, blind opposition is the same as blind obedience: it's blindness either way.

Loudly raising questions and refusing to discuss answers is a poor argument technique. Of course, I will be accused yet again of this by our troll in chief, but there is a difference: I read both sides, and do not find unsubstantiated claims and anecdotal evidence to be as persuasive as double-blind trials: my objections are based on a critical reading of the material. And the amount of vitriol and lunacy involved in the links provided in support these charlatans does not help. I am willing to admit that Debra does not herself believe in lizard people, she believes in people who do believe in lizard people. And evil, all-encompassing conspiracies. And a large number of dangerous beliefs about biology, politics, and Illuminati.

But your point is well taken. Anyone who reads this thread and still takes Debra's advice is a lost cause anyway, so I shall cease banging my head against the brick wall that is this conversation.

Garlic goes in everything in my house lol..not really everything i eat.but a lot of it..not so much that it overtakes..there is nothing like real clove garlic..
it has tons of uses also..my cousin had a planters wart..i told her .tape a small piece of this over it for the night and see how long it takes..within a week it had fallen off..plus everyone around me gets bit by ticks and chiggers and mosquito's..i go in the woods with a t-shirt on while they are spraying down with all kinds of deet stuff..
they still get ticks and the others..

i consider myself pretty fortunate that we supply our own beef and most of the other foods we eat..our eggs from our chickens and our wildlife we feed real well also with making sure our ranch stays as organic as possible..

A lot of the food poisonings you have with processed foods you don't have with farm fresh..

I use a ton of home remedies and things my great grandmother was using in all her years..

my main cleaners i use for my home are baking soda and white vinigar and apple cider vinigar..with those right there you can do anything you can do with i'm gonna say 90% of the other products people by for thier homes..and they work better and are safer..
laundry,dishes,counters bathrooms ,carpet and floors ect..

I'm willing to try anything once..if it works i'll use it again...if this silver stuff helps to fight off the flu before the symptoms show up that would be a great thing..nobody wants the flu..
I don't mind things if they are safe if i am gonna take them on a daily or weekly basis..
but if i am already getting something the same thing from something else in my diet then it's just gonna be a waste for me..
my main thing is i know my immunity system is strong as it gets..I don't want to go taking something that may stop one thing but also break other things down that i have built..

I may have missed the links if you posted any for it..it is worth reading up on to see if it will help in my diet..

as far as vaccines..if i have to take them i will..i mean if there is something out there that can grab me and kill me in 12 hours and they have something that will stop it..i'm gonna get it..flu's i have just always been pretty quick at either fighting them off or just ignoring them and going about my business the best i can..

i think people will go with what they feel they trust their lives with ..it's all about survival and i figure for someone to trust me with advice i may have..i need to make real good sense to them or it's just a wash..

Not everyone lives through a hurricane or tornado..mainly because of the choices their instincts have told them to make..

i think at times we have to choose the lessor evil if there is an evil..

like me in th e summer time..i'll have 20 bottles of water that i may take a sip out of..my dad always says ..hey you know those things are all poison now since they have been sittin in the sun this whole time..i just say..well if my jeep ever tips over and i am pinned in here..i won't be thirsty..i'll worry about the poison after i get out lol
i just always hear about people getting pinned and dying of thirst or going without water..as much as i am on the mountain here..it's not gonna be the case for me LOL

i just think we all have to choose between what we all think are the lessor of two evils..we won't be right all the time..i sure don't think anyone is gonna change their minds if they feel pretty strong one way or the other though..
