No, I am not. Ask a Gorean if they are roleplaying. Many don't separate RL and SL. Of course there are many roleplayers in Gorean sims but those wouldn't stalk after your friend.

In the last big Gor Thread we had, a RL "Vampire" posted attacking the Goreans for not being in touch with reality. It is a condition of human behavior, not because they follow the writings of a semi popular SF writer, that they have problems. _____________________

Update: I have relayed all the advice you guys have given me. Apparently, she has decided to handle the situation by arguing with them until they give up. That's not what I would have done, but I hope it works out for her. Well, you tried. We all tried. Evidently the two parties involved have somehow become interested in what each other have to say, since they keep talking!! 5'll getcha 10 that one side or the other ends up wearing a collar! *grin* |

Errm... even IF the people who are really serious about Gor ideas and philosophies decide to take Gor to RL and play Slave/Master/etc in their real homes, it's STILL consensual. A man can't just go around grabbing uncollared chicks out of the supermarket and dragging her home to make her a slave. I guess it's possible in some of the scarier third world countries, but anyone in the western world must by definition consent to being enslaved in the Gorean way. This is what makes me view ALL Gorean participants as role players. It *is* non-consentual in the books. And it cannot be in RL (or SL). At least with BDSM, the generally accepted line is SSC. Consent is built in. Having said that, I have no doubt at all that for some participants, it can be a very real and moving experience. But it's not the books. Which is why I view RL Gor as a subset of BDSM for those people. And RP for the rest.  Heh. That should get some backs up!_____________________
