Quick advice needed: What to do if you get in trouble with Goreans?

Dislike the "blame the victim" culture, but I'm starting to wonder if she's not enjoying the attention. I mean, I would have had this crap sorted out days and days ago...

lol! but they won't because she's in the power position now. She has them actually expending effort to chase her while she does nothing. She is clearly not intimidated - they have not succeeded in making her do ANYTHING at all, not AR them, nothing.

I actually asked her this question. She denied it. Apparently it has more to do with not wanting to let them intimidate her and her pride in being able to use her reasoning skills to (1) understand the goofiness and (2) wear them down until they decide to leave her alone.

And, no, I was not joking about their inviting her to an "orientation seminar." Buncha Amway wannabes.

Sounds like she is being too nice to them.

And is getting the "Aww c'mon, you'll like it .."

Trying to use reasoning skills this way shows a remarkable lack of reasoning skills. I doubt your friend has the capacity she thinks she does.



/me's mind boggles. As long as I live, I will never understand SL. Gorean orientation seminars. I just picture a conference room in a hotel somewhere. Lots of long tables, a podium, coffee service. I can't imagine a real Gorean would use Powerpoint, so they probably have those gigantic pads of paper.

I only go to seminars when forced to at gunpoint, but I go stuck in one in Seattle once. I can't remember the name of the facility, but it was in a huge, dark, warm auditorium with really comfy chairs that leaned back. After lunch they had a candy bar. There were about a dozen 3 gal. jugs full of different candies and you could grab a bowl (or two) and help yourself. Sort of a sugar buffet.

I haven't slept that well in ages and I gained 3 pounds. Best seminar EVAR. I wish I remember what it was about. If I ever go again, I'm taking a blanket and a pillow.

Well, regardless of what happens with my friend, at least I know what to do now if something like this happens.
