I agree also, having serious relationships in SL is a recipe for disaster for most people. For myself I have decided that is a road I do not want to travel. I have to agree to. I just wish it wasn't this way. But oh well.. Back to sticking prims together... |

Then you are not looking in the right places I suggest. There are *still* many, many wonderful builds out there. The world works much better except near upgrades than it ever has - at least from my experience. Sadly many of those wonderful builds are empty  |

I also maintain that there isn't necessarily anything gay about using a female avatar in Second Life. Its like someone said early in this thread, i would rather be looking at a hot babe that isn't me than at some stupid looking guy that isn't me all the time.
Me using a female avatar on Second Life makes me gay no more than playing a soldier in Call of Duty 4 makes me a war hero. (not that its a bad thing to be gay just saying!) Ok damnit it is kind of gay what the hell. |

I do think that a guy should have a right to know who they are playing around with is really a woman if this is important to them, and thats where I think voice comes in and you can force their hand, problem solved. If you ask me (and I know you didn't!) every guy should try to go around in SL with a sexy female avatar at least once and see how different people treat you, you learn a lot about how pathetic a lot of guys make themselves look. There is no shortage of weenies trying to get laid this is for sure. Some guys make themselves look pathetic by virtue of their arrogant uninformed posts right here. Lmao. I always wanted to start a topic of this... I have told many people in sl this and i will say it here. sl is the fantasy you really want in rl but cant have. As far as this topic goes anyway Sad thing is 80% of the guys who do play as chick will never tell you. Every time i hear about a chick who was fount to be a guy i just want to die laughing.... Bad thing is it gives all the real females a lot of trouble cause they are hounded about whether they are a m or f in rl... And alot of people wont settle inless they hear a voice are something. Well after a long chat with my patner last night I have decided to become a guy in SL for a few weeks. Her alt partnered mine for the experiment and she is going to be at my side for it.
This will be an interesting way for me to understand what RL is like for MTF tg women. Of course it wont be the same as living every day as a woman trapped in a man's body but it will give me soem idea of how to muddle through. My partner is making me learn most of this on my own. No social pointers about how to interact with guys etc. Though she did stop me buying soem clothes for this, suposedly no stright guy would wear what I was going to buy poor IT. Ill be honest I am not sure what to expect from all this. But I ove my partner and i would like the chance to experience some timein her shoes. We have spoken about it, and as much as i try to understand a lot of it I just cant. Anyway the plan is to find somewhere ice to hang out and try to socialise with the group for a few weeks. See what happens, see if I truely can pull this off. I am already nervous |

If the annoyances could be persuaded to lay off (I won't interfere for one if you are being truthful) then it could be an illuminating diary. Well before you go off on your role playing adventure, just remind yourself that not everybody is here to role play and so therefore your game can end up being nothing more than a pack of lies to some. It'll be no different from a guy telling a woman that he is single when he's really married. "Hey, I was just role playing being a single guy! What's the problem?" I have no intentions of becoming anythign more than friends with anyone. I would hope that no one would be offended or upset by me not revealing all of my RL self to someone right away unless I was intending on becoming closer to them. I will be telling the truth to the peple I get close to at some point and I dont intend to hurt anyone by doing any of this. IT is partnered to my partners alt and she will be coming with me as my partner. Please understand that this is no game. I am not out to do anythign other than to undertand. I have no intentions of hurting anyone. I woudl thinking haaving had a partner who is tg and hid it for part of our relatinship I would have at least some understanding of how this could hurt others if not done with respect. |

I dont know if SL can provide the means to truly understand the innormitude of the transgendered disposition and certainly wont help fathom out the hormonal conflicts that are interwoven with it, but I admire your tenacity in exploring what you are able to with the tools available. |

SL is the last place I go to see cool!. Get yourself an XBox, gal!. Screw the gameplay, just enjoy the scenery!  Google for Robbie Dingo's video "Watch the World". SL was a lot simpler and cruder back when he did that, but that's already more "cool" than I've seen on *any* console. _____________________

And that's even before you bring in software. Voice is NOT a reliable tool for detecting "transpostites". I won't go into any of the other things I think people are misusing voice for, I've posted about THAT often enough. It's why I'm still sitting here in front of a computer with no mic input and no slots for a sound card ... let alone a headset ... but, honey, if I *were* to go on voice I suspect I'd be more accepted with a female avatar than a male one. _____________________

I never consider whether the guy I have sexual relations with in sl is a guy. I'll be frank with you and say it doesnt truly bother me. It's actually very stimulating to NOT know - knowing everything about your partner is really a bore. I am sure I have slept with women who are role-playing men. I hope I gave them a good time. Let's leave some hang-ups in th ereal world and concentrate on how we appear in sl. Its much healthier. Guys, get over the fact YOU aren gonna know for sure who you are having sex with. After all, how can you be sure you arent f**king someone with 15 people staring over the partners shoulders in real at you??? Just coz they say they are alone doesnt mean they really are.
