Well, one of my african hunting dog avatars carries a katana and tachi, and the other carries a katzbalger, because some species just don't naturally go with polo shirts and dockers. But that doesn't mean they're supposed to be badasses... I've carried both weapons myself in costumes at the Renaissance Festival. After spending time with that mob I mostly associate swords with badly knitted chainmail and "comfort fit" cuirasses. Real ones? We have a large RenFest and only the staff gets to go about armed with the real thing. The rest of us have to act like our shillelaghs and staffs are canes until we get past the front door. I think all the steel weapons for sale are delivered. |

My comment was specific to the movie industries' comments, and are literally the case when Jack Valenti was the spokesman for the industry on the U.S. Capital Hill. The two comments were made weeks apart, one speaking to the impact of a particular film getting an award and the other Jack Valenti's standard response to the Hill asking about the impact of film on the young and impressionable. FWIW, on two occasions I was a CFO for print (and electronic print) media. Also FWIW, I found some of the stereotypes of editors thinking they were god were often quite accurate (although they would have found that a limitation), and their best creative juices seemed to flow when they did expense account vouchers. But isnt this God's Gift to World attitude to most people in similar positions? I know editors and I know bureaucrats, consultants and even secretaries (in all manner of jobs) thinking they were messianic. _____________________

Hmmm. On a final note: I think there is nothing in fantasy land more sublime than a female Neko. 1/2 woman, 1/2 cat...my gosh *trails off* *sighs and melts* Puurrr. I definitely think men get turned on to the "animal" - maybe its teh tail? I think I have only met one or two men who didnt like my leopard skin. One was evangelical and told me I was a devil's spawn. He was from Chicago ... The other simply didnt have any testosterone I reckon. A man's need to mate is enhanced when he faces a tigress. The implicit "all" in your first sentence makes your statement nonsense. If you meant to say "some" then it is empty of content. If your argument is based on an unsaid "most" then the minimal example in the second is obviously completely deficient, since men that didn't like your leopard skin would stay away from you (and I would expect that it isn't just the leopard skin that deters them) or perhaps if you insisted upon foisting your attentions upon them (why do I assume that you might do that?) they would be too polite to tell you they didn't like it.
