I'm out of the loop...
Is it time for this one to come up again?
Here. I'll fix the OP for you.
What is the obsession with insisting that you should be allowed to go somewhere that someone pays good money for, when you clearly aren't?
Moreover, what makes you think that you are entitled to pass judgement on someone whose proprty you want to use? Regardless of what folks can and can't do on the land, it's still someone else's property that they spend hard earned money on to pay for the ability to have some privacy, real or imagined, and do whatever they want. What ever THEY want. Not you. You don't get a say.
When you pony up the bucks and get your own place, then you get to say what happens there. Until then, you don't get to tell anyone what they can and can't do on their own land. You don't even have the moral authority to question their motives. WHY they want to do things is, quite frankly, none of your business.
Shoot!

From: VonGklugelstein Alter 'splain me... haha
for people who have no manners they make eject and ban features built in to your land if you run ito that situation where you need to get out the hammer After the tenth or twentieth time, logging in and immediately having to hit the eject button gets old so I just let my orb do that for me so I can log in and get about my business.

New question:
Is it morally wrong of me to eject & ban people that randomly come on my property (I don't mind that) but when I say hi, they don't speak english?
I just don't wanna deal with them trying to ask me things in spanish while I build or w/e (Next door is a hispanic escorts' property)

From: Bradley Bracken I don't understand security devices but respect peoples choice to use them. This is especially true if they have sex in SL which I don't.
I agree that I don't understand why they have anything on when they are not home. If you read some very recent posts here... you'll see why some of us use security devices when we are not home... It's because there are many people out there who will use your property as if it is theirs... invite friends over... have sex in your bed... Okay they don't make a physical mess, but it is still a violation of your personal space.

Is it time for this one to come up again? Silly, it's always time for this to come up again. I never get tired of threads with 400 posts rehashing the same things that have been covered a hundred times or more.

Shoot! Let me guess, you use Access Control Ban Lines and a security Orb to keep safe and all by yourself

Okay they don't make a physical mess, but it is still a violation of your personal space. I still think it's nonsense but respect how others feel about it. All I ask is people have simple orbs and not ones like my neighbor had which zip all around and drive their neighbors crazy.

There is also the RP component that many residents enjoy. I don't engage in particularly colourful RP but if I'm happily playing house I don't want some tourist strolling through my living room.
Other reasons for security: Previously, I was renting and had a naked Italian appear quite suddenly in the living room (I assume him to be a previous tenant using an old LM). Try explaining THAT!

Okay they don't make a physical mess, but it is still a violation of your personal space. ... it is if you view it that way. I'm not saying you are wrong to view it that way; just that some of us do not view it that way. I don't feel my personal space is violated by people using my SL home when I am not there. I just don't. Reading other people's accounts of feeling violated by that doesn't change my own feeling that I just don't care.

From: VonGklugelstein Alter Sorry but I am new and I thought this was for new people to gain insight into the world of Sl Yes, I know. It wasn't really directed at anyone. I realize new people are always coming into the forums so we'll see the same question coming up time and time again. It just goes with the territory. It's just a running joke for those of us who've been around to keep seeing the same questions coming up all the time and yes, we get a little tired of it, though if we're really here to help we'll understand.

DOn't take it personally dude, just leads to more drama, and more angry stuff, which leads to umm..well..a thread complaining about someone specifically, which has no real point...

haha Vongl..dude. This is what I meant earlier about pushing your views. You're saying that it doesn't exist. Period. Without considering other views. To me, and it would seem Bradley, it does exist. To you it doesn't. DIfferent views.

From: Keira Wells Unless they disable camera constraints. I've had my camera 500m above me 500m? That is amateur-level stuff If I see someone on my property on the mini-map when I'm building in my skybox (~720m above ground), I'll pop my camera down to see who is around. From there, I'll sometimes see who is in the bar one sim away, or see who is out and about on that sim. I have a moderately fast computer and a comfortably fast DSL line (6Mb/s) so on private sims I can keep my draw distance at 512m and still get decent frame rates. That draw distance combined with disabled camera constraints means I have to be no where near where I'm looking. I don't have any real interest in Second Sehks, much less watching other people have it, but if I did, it would be trivial to engage in a bit of virtual voyeurism.
