Normal service will be resumed as soon as anybody can make any sense at all of the EFL sense of humour.

at the most basic of Abba-esque levels of interpretation of the words themselves.

Okay, now you've gone too far! One does NOT mock ABBA!

Try not being so freaking mean-spirited for once in your life, Pep. You might find some enlightenment of your own.

Ok, that's it, I'm telling. Sorry Pep, rumbled and busted. He is being very nice to me right now off forum.

So, maybe Pep can only be nice to one person at a time? I dunno...he does seem able to get along with more than just me....

What enlightenment am I going to find attempting to interpret Ava's incomprehensible babblings or Benski's posts-with-a-reading-age-of-10?

Pep (Mean-spirited? Is that the opposite of politically correct reverse discrimination?)

Since they're ESLers, I guess it comes natural to you. :p

I know that you know precisely what I meant.

What happened to Benny?
Hi Benny (Jig waves shyly).
I always like Benny as a name. Pepe is kindalike a parrot in a cage.

Sorry, that is how I read your words.

Pep (If that is not what you meant then please be more explicit.)

ETA It is yet another abysmal day for those of us who suffer from hay fever. One man's meat . . .

I am in a cloudy low after a vicious gale last night. You should take something for that hayfever. Didn't D. H. Lawrence says writing a letter was like having a good sneeze?

Did you try Aerius 5mg? works wonders for me. I have hay fever too for as long as I can remember, and all these years, nothing worked better for me than this medicine. Reduced it by 90%.

Maybe worth while to ask your doctor about it.

Thanks Benski, when it is essential to go outside at this time of year I do already take NeoClarityn (and have been for the last five years or so since it came out) which is the same drug (Desloratadine) under a different branding as Aerius. Although it is probably the best one currently available, despite the promises of second-generation anti-histamines it still makes me a little tired, nauseous and headachy without giving me 100% confidence about going out in the sun and grass, which irritates my eyes intensely.

Pep (The best approach I have found during this time, which correspondingly seems to irritate my wife intensely, is to stay in airconditioned darkened rooms with TV and computer screens the only illumination. :D )

He can get along with anybody he wants to. He's nice inworld in the Cartel group chats; he's occasionally nice to me even here on the Forum but then he will throw out something casually a personal 'zing' that just nullifies anything nice he's (accidentally?) said and it's back to square one. His very casually thrown out words can be very hurtful, but when people tell him that, he just tells them how dumb and poorly spoken they are.

Nothing is accidental and nothing is casual.

My principal complaint *is* in fact that others are casual and thoughtless about their posts.

Yes, I'm somewhat aware of Pep's quirks. Pep can ask questions about things people would rather not think about. Pep may comment based on incomplete information. Pep may even (gasp, hold on to your desk's edge, Pep) be wrong. There isn't a comment he could make, casually or otherwise, that would 'nullify' anything nice he's said to me. Temper it maybe, but not nullify. More often than not, when he has complete information, Pep is spot on.

I just had a good giggle at the thought of Pep telling me I was dumb. Pep can answer, if he can be bothered, what sort of reaction he would get if he called me dumb.

How do you feel about pictures of cats?

I know all about that as do you so the question is not for your benefit.

I do have a problem with pictures of green rabbits. That's just messed up.
