I see it at the bottom of a lot of peoples' posts lately. What does it mean? It remind me of P.S. which by the way I don't know what that stands for either. I would look it up, but this is Resident Answers, and I'm betting YOU know the answer. lol So, please tell me. I'm betting pep is some kind of forum insider thing. What does it mean? Is it an acronym or abbreviation?

PS is post script, Pep is a person who posts here and always comments on his own post with
(pep) farts or what ever.

He's kind of infamous.

You sure it's been a lot of people's posts, and not just one person who posts a lot? There's a certain person on the forum who has been signing Pep at the end of his/her posts for years. It's the person's nickname, nothing more.

P.S. stands for post script, meaning an add-on that comes after the text of a letter or post, an afterthought.

It reminds me of a pep pill, like the way it's a cynical verification or underlying truth of what he he first said, like get yourself awake to my meaning or pep up.

The question is not "what does" but "why is".

Not that I'm interested in the answer; it just had to be said ;)

I always thought it was just a short form for his full name.

And technically, it's not just him, that grammarless gal Ava has been "covering" him lately in a mistaken attempt at humor, signing with a P(ee)p.

Nobody knows what Pep means. Sometimes I don't think he even knows.

Since you ask . . .

. . . if people don't understand me then they should look inside themselves and take the time and the trouble to read my postings better; everything I say is considered and relevant, even if couched in language that might challenge the semi-literate. I *do* know what I am talking about, even if I have problems understanding the ill-considered meanderings of many others.

. . . if you look in my inworld profile it suggests you call me Pep as an abbreviated version of my name, so that people can save wear and tear on their digital sex organs, and not embarrass themselves by demonstrating their inability to type words of more than four letters accurately - except Jig of course, who used to have problems typing three-letter words, although she seems better now ;) I am delighted to note.

. . . and it is also a true acronym, standing for Pserendipity's Enhanced Profiles, my inworld business which offers a money-back guaranteed service to improve the profiles of those who have a particular need for more, or less attention, of the right sort. No-one has *ever* asked for their money back I am delighted to say and I have had massive successes!

Pep (Actually, no-one has asked for their money back because I have never requested payment; unfortunately I have the worst business model in SL, since I enjoy the process too much and derive intrinsic pleasure in my achievement. )

A most positive contribution, thank you! :)

Pep (Franchising opportunities available for those with appropriate names and sense of humour, both of which apply to you. ;) )

That should actually be

Pep (farts)

/If anyone uses www.fark.com you will see that they have a similar postscript mechanism using "slashies" like this.

//The more slashies, the more interesting it tends to get.

///Pep (was there first though)

Pep, unlike the saying, is *not* as "nice as Pie"

I always assumed it stood for

I had to censor this 3 times in order for it to only be mildly offensive :)

That's a coincidence. I didn't even know that.
Pie Serendipity is like buying an unmarked pie without knowing what the filling is, but being OK because it's got apple filling not cauliflower.

Could you please elaborate on your "enhanced profile" service?

Does your money back guarantee cover the fact that the most charming and engaging profile will not work magic for someone completely lacking in social graces?

Or do you have a different theory?

Or do you offer an additional service of teaching charm and grace?
