If "getting along" solely consists of subordinating to his ego or putting him on ignore, then I, for one, am glad to weld it shut. I think most people would feel the same way. Putting him on ignore (or "ignoring" him) is not "getting along with him" it is "getting along without him" which I already do just fine. Contrary to his wet dreams and your assumptions, my life does not revolve around Pep, my occasional diversion to "play" with him here in the forums notwithstanding.



Well, since it appears so obvious, and all us unwashed masses are so clueless, please do educate us. Do your friend Pep a favor. I mean, if these threads surrounding him bother you so much (and they appear to), it may result in much less of them, which is a good thing, right?

Well, there are plenty of people here who didn't "throw themselves on the ground and have a tantrum" at his "first rude comment", myself included. He's made PLENTY of rude comments that I have never even commented on. People "correct" him all the time and try to move on, but he just keeps on going at them. What, in your particular instance, made you so special, do you imagine? What made you "succeed" where so many others have apparently "failed"? You corrected him (not sure what you mean by "corrected"; did you pedantically correct a typo or word choice error, or was it something more esoteric?), and he stopped being an ass to you. Why?



You have been insinuating it, just like you did there.

Many people have learned to ride a bike and swim, yet few "get along" with Pep. Apparently, "getting along" with Pep is significantly more difficult a proposition than you're alluding to.



I'm not asking you to MAKE me "get it". I'm simply asking for the meat of the process. Whether I follow it or not is my own choice, of course, but you can't claim to have "taught me", in the same way you would teach someone to ride a bike or swim, until you've made an effort beyond "I have no trouble riding a bike; there's the bike, get on it and go!".

You make it sound like it is trivial, especially when you use phrases like "forest for the trees". When something is REALLY obvious, it usually doesn't take a whole lot of effort to get people to see it. I'm not refusing to see anything; you've simply given me nothing to see as yet.

I see the end result, you tell me the path is "obvious", yet continue to refuse to even point in a particular direction.

Talarus, this is a laugh or cry moment. Here's another idea. I forbid you to ever try to get along with Pep. It is too difficult. It's impossible. No one can do it. If they could they'd keep it a secret because it's such a miraculous discovery.

Nonsense! Elsewhere in the forums you say you can not know anything about what someone is like by looking at his avatar. Similarly *you* know *NOTHING* about Pep apart from the tip of the iceberg you see in the forums. How dare you make any ignorant assumptions about the number and quality of my friends. The great majority of them are busy sitting back laughing with me - and at you - while others can not see why I bother attempting to educate the unenlightened here.

I bet you were waiting for me to comment on that dangling preposition. Instead I'll point out that it seems to be the more intelligent and well-balanced with both a sense of proportion and a sense of humour who find it fairly easy to get on with me.

Yep. I am. I can definitely say that I genuinely tried to understand and give you the opportunity to "educate" me, and it was a wash. Instead of actually getting to the meat of the issue, you resort to circular arguments, deprecations, sarcasm, and insipidity. Just like Pep.

Maybe that's the magic formula! People have to become just like Pep to be liked by Pep.

Anyhow. I really don't have any interest in going back to each and every comment I have made already (not just to you. this has been a long thread) about how to get along with Pep.

I suspect if I had to limit it to a single concept, it'd be a learned emotional steadiness and consistency. My boundaries are clear and it seems to me Pep respects that.
