fine with me if you can cope with the rest of the scenario, lol. I'm not sure I can!

Will Pep give me an allowance? Will you have separate bedrooms? Will he send me away to school? Will he be kind to me? (I know you will) :)
I must go off now - its foggy and I have to get some work done on a pond. My ducks are eating each other I think.

And ooo Pep I can see by your signature you know Eliot. "Hypocrite lecteur" indeed!

Baudelaire actually.

Pep (Funny eh? The supposed xenophobe's favourite poet is not only French, but I read him in his native tongue. )

Oh for crying out loud Pep! I have a little education, a lot of patience and grown up kids - but communicating with you is akin to talking to my very elderly father-in-law!

I can't believe you went to Cambridge, if you had learnt any Latin at all, you would know that learning Latin teaches you all the things about English that the English classes never do.

Deira (who originally wrote "silly old fart", but changed it because she did not want to teach Ben English slang - after all, if my kids called someone a "silly old fart", I'd probably have a hissy fit and tell them off).
I absolutely agree about Latin (which I do have qualifications in) informing the use of English. I have, by stealth, taught my two kids as much as I can about that language. They call me GOD actually - Grumpy Old Dad - because I objected to the original acronym which claimed I was a Silly Old Dad.

Pep (I didn't have to be psychic to have known what you originally typed. ;) )

Cambridge must be going downhill badly

I absolutely agree!

Pep (It all started backsliding after I left and they began admitting women. :p )

Refer you to Eliot, The Waste Land "Burial of the Dead" line 76 - more appropriate I should say. Just coz I didn't go to Cambridge doesnt mean I dont read, innit?
You would be so surprised if you only knew ... :)

OMG, lol you must come to my house and see how I live. I don't shut doors but with a Jig underfoot I'd have to rethink that.

Of course not. Of course he will. I'll show you where I hide the cheese.

Crocs make some wellies with great traction.

I suspect between us we could get Pep to do a great many things.

I didn't know Eliot was a plagiarist?

Pep (Shall we call it a tribute, or "sampling" like Coolio ripping off Stevie Wonder for Gangsta's Paradise?)

"Riper the berry, sweeter the juice"

Use this one! Riper the berry. My Jamaican great gran taught me this. Tell them its cultural.

You and Ben are a godsend - I'm sure I shall do better in class this year. :)

Just laughing my way through Ava's pics.....hehe!

Now Jig - I'm feeling very concerned about your ducks. What with the tomatoes as well...it's good you are going to your Mum's.

What _am_ I doing here! I've got stuff to do!

Yes, you do. But you work better under pressure (as my manager says).
Do you think my pond has a snapping turtle in it?
Gotta go - my love to all including my new Papa - Pappy PepPep. I like sound of that. Sounds like someone who should be at Glastonbury right now.

It's OK, I spend a lot of time explaining abstruse allusions in movies and songs to my kids, who don't yet have the historical cultural referents.

Probably about as stopped as he'll get here. Don't worry, outside the forum it's a different story
