It seems like common sene to me, but I'm biased, so maybe it's not. It's just a matter of position and analysis. Too many people get angry and go into attack mode without analyzing their position or developing a strategy. It's no different than chess, poker, football, or any other competition - you need to figure your opponent out and map out a game plan, not close your eyes and start swinging wildly, hoping to connect. _____________________

Your problem is that you're taking a spaghetti approach. Great post, Trout! Offensive warfare calls for a concentration of force at the point of attack (Clausewitz). Also, wars have been lost because of a failure to know what type of war is being waged, i.e. Vietnam, an armed invasion by a foreign power (NVA), not a guerilla insurgency (VC). One of Napoleon's commanders, not knowing where the enemy would attack, posted a few troops every 100m or so. Napoleon told him that was a great strategy if he intended to prevent smuggling, but useless against an attack. Same thing here: lack of a concentration of force combined with poor intelligence, I think. |

I can't believe you actually expect him to repost to a thread he's already 'lost'. "expect" might be a strong word. "hope" perhaps, even tho I'm aware that's foolhardy. I also just like dragging it up to the top of the list and reminding him. Also "lost" doesn't appear to be in his vokabuleri. I would actually still love to know if there even was a crime committed and by who. I still see a couple viable explanations for the observed events. _____________________
