That which are (sic) lacking.
I lack a Maserati GranCabrio.

Pep (Is that a "concience"? In that case maybe I should reconsider my moral stance.)

As could you.
I could, but it doesn't irritate me.

From: Pserendipity Daniels
Pep (Or perhaps you enjoy being irritating; how does *that* sit with your moral stance regarding "concience"?)
It's the wrong question because I'm not being irritating. Or... if the fact that I reply to each post that Laurin makes to me is irritating, then it sits well with my concience, since replying to posts that are written to you shouldn't wind the writer of them up.

That surprises me, since you continue to discuss it. You could always stop discussing it if it becomes too irritating

You guys have been going at it hammer and tongs for days now. I am already fed up, so shall do just that. As I said, I have already had my say. What keeps you picking nits I have no idea.

I don't keep picking nits. I merely reply to posts that you write to me. If you don't write them, I won't reply to them ;)

I'm off out for lunch now.

I've said all that I have to say about Pep and that outburst, and I stand by every word of what I've said. I'll say no more.

your tagline reminds me of a gadget I actually built years ago. It was a sign that said bang head here. when you clicked it it started an animation that made your AV bang its head on the sign. ;)

Could you mod it for knocking heads together?

If you can swing it go in the morning our time. I was just there and no lag on my lappy. Hit all the shops I wanted to (I scoped the blog first). Some nice things this year :)

I'll try tomorrow - thanks Laurin :)

I hate these arguments.

They're not fun arguments, they're adult ones. I know you may be in a different age category, but these remind me of real arguments.
I dont like them.
Please make up. I am NOT being silly.
Pep please stop being so "old"and piggle-headed. Yes, piggle heaed!

How insulting. As one of Pep's staunch friends, as you know, I will point out that the last person who publicly implied I was stupid was the tin foil vaccine lady.

LOL!

You were "supposed to be dead"?? Says something about the mental age of most griefers, does it not? :p

I've not yet been hit by a deformer - I await that one with interest though as I could retaliate with a more imaginative deformation.

A deformer is a script the contorts and deforms your avi? If so, I've been hit by that one, after stupidly accepting what was supposed to be a "hug" animation from a new acquaintance (who is not, I need hardly say, on my friend's list now). I had to log off to fix it.

From: Deira Llanfair
I think one of the nastiest griefing attack I have come across (not involving me) was someone who had used a HUG attachment to gain permission to animate someone and then changed the HUG animation for a less innocent and much more embarrassing one. From then on in, every time the avatar came into the sim, they were thrown into this embarrassing animation - and there was nothing they could do about it except to keep away from the griefer. So - be careful to whom you grant permission to animate!

This one is interesting, as it corresponds somewhat with what I've sometimes seen referred to as a "voodoo doll" attack, in which an apparently "harmless" object, animation, or script is used to trigger an unwanted animation. It's frightening, that in this case, the effects seemed to linger: was the animation retriggered even after relogging? And dare I ask what the "embarrassing" animation was?

Ok, Scylla writes this:

From: Scylla Rhiadra

Are you trying to alienate every woman in this forum ...........

to which you reply:

From: Mickey Vandeverre
He's already done that, Scylla....many times over, and in a number of different ways. Any woman with a head on her shoulders, that is.

Thus my reply without my name needing to be on the post.

Why would you insult someone you've never met, seen , or interacted with? :(

Falls right into place here, in the griefing thread.....if you count hurting people as griefing. I guarantee you that any woman that you hand those safety kits to, will most likely not run into anything more threatening.

This was in response to Scylla talking about Pep alienating women. Your response indicates any woman whom he hasn't alienated (Laurin and I for instance) must not have a head on our shoulders. I find that insulting as well.

Oh, Ris . . . that's horrible! I'm so sorry!

Yes, I'd definitely classify this as stalking and harassment, rather than your common-or-garden griefing. I'm glad that you were able to get away!

Thanks Scylla. *hugs*

Correct. Instead I am part of the group of people you insulted as a whole. Apparently being friends with Pep means I don't 'have a head on my shoulders', according to you.

Thank you ladies, but Mickey's English isn't that good . . .

Pep ( . . . and anyway, she tends not to read the posts of others before she posts - or afterwards, it seems.)

I wondered why Pep had apparently stopped trolling the unending thread. It turns out he was busy making friends here.

Let's see...

From: Phil Deakins
You asked for it, as has been pointed out to you. The actual wish was way over the top but you *did* ask for a red mist retaliation (apparently you drove somebody away with your stupidities, and the friend retaliated). I have no sympathy with you whatsoever.

Btw, do stop sulking about it.

Well said. And he's not sulking. He's admitted in no uncertain terms that he's trying to run Rhonda off of this forum. He thinks he's found the thin edge of the wedge and is trying to drive it through. But he's seriously overplaying his hand, and I think it's safe to say that most people recognize it for what it is. Even if, and pay attention Pep, even if they felt strong distaste for what Rhonda wrote, they still realize that you provoked it, and are trying to use it to lead a mob like charge to drive her away.

From: Phil Deakins

You're sulking when you keep posting what someone said to you, because it hurt you ("Look at what {name} said to me :(";). Stop sulking and grow up.

It didn't hurt him. He's very pleased with himself. Thinks he's got ammunition.

From: Phil Deakins

He's a retard whose pleasure is to find fault with people and keep on digging at the faults if they respond. People point it out to him over and over again here, and what does Pep do? He pleads innocence and continues unabated. He has a sick mind. Look at this...

Exactly.

From: Laurin Sorbet

All the rest, the winding up, dickhead, nasty...it goes both ways. I'm not particularly nasty to people, or I don't go out of my way to be, and do you know what nickname I earned here? Mrs Barbi Douchebag. Isn't that nice? It certainly wasn't Pep that called me that, but some of the people you are defending.

You stand by your friend, which is admirable. On the other hand, when you defend such obvious douchebaggery, it's inevitable that people will think you're a douchebag too. I know I do.

A common claim is that he's not like this in other venues. Perhaps not. I don't care. He *is* like this here, and this is context in which you defend him.

From: Pserendipity Daniels

He said you're all deaf anyway on that sim you can't hear if there are sirens or not.
This reminded me of a novel I read back in the 80s, written by a Deaf guy. (At the time I was considering becoming a sign language interpreter and I was immersing myself in Deaf culture.) The story was about a bunch of militant Deaf separatists who infiltrated an island--I think somewhere off the coast of Maryland or Delaware--and when enough of them had moved there, they staged a revolution and seceded from the union to form the first Deaf nation. It was pretty funny; I enjoyed it a lot. I can't remember the title, though, and even several minutes of Googling likely keywords didn't help.

As for griefing, I haven't seen much. When I first came here, just a bit over a year ago, I used to use a barren rock island in the ocean near the public Help Island to change clothes. That area used to be subjected to storms of rezzed cubes, often with Nazi emblems on them. These grew more frequent, and one day a cube hit me and knocked me sprawling. I lolled--not because I think Nazi idiocy is funny, but because I'd never been knocked down in SL before. What did I do about it? That's when I decided to go premium and buy land so I'd have a place to change my clothes.

Since then I've had some strange objects dropped on my land, including a rather large red pulsating flying saucer, and a Zyngo machine that I found lying on its side in the tops of the trees that make up my "Avenue of Palms". That's when I finally decided to turn object-entry off for my land.

Oh, and to be clear about it, he did indeed drive a valued member of our community off. He even chased her to another forum briefly before apparently thinking better of it.

And that is an example of "griefing."

And here is my own personal example:

/327/a8/275685/1.html

All I did was contact the guy for a conversation. That's all. This thread was started about my alt....and he implied that he would ruin me with this thread. I had just started a business that was doing very well. I was also blackmailed, that if I did not disclose who my main av was.....that he would pin that tag on someone else, and destroy someone else, instead....so that messed with my head, too. It was a terrible month, that month. I'm not a pushover. But that cut like a knife. And I almost left SL entirely, over it. You can go to page 21 for the summary of what it cost me.

It's a form of Griefing. No if's, and's or but's about it.
1 ... 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 ... 22
