I'm still trying to work out where the clover fits in. Pep (It seemed an appropriate substitution.) _____________________

I think the very fact that a person, facing the task choosing a PG word replacement to make their death threat suitable for postings, would choose, 'clover', pretty much sealed my opinion on the whole discussion. That, and fact that he not only signs his posts, but has rung new and more annoying changes on the habit of post signing. Treasure:
I don't think anyone is critical of what you wrote earlier - I'm certainly not. The outburst contained some horrible stuff and, as far I know, you are against that sort of stuff being posted, as is everyone else. _____________________

You can squirm all you like but you'll never escape the fact that it was you fault and you deserved an outburst against you. Pep (You remind me of Bart Simpson: "Can I, can I, can I, can I, can I . . . ad infinitum.) _____________________

In fact, Love's little tag for me of douchebag? I am amazed that was necessary either, or Mickey's odd comments. I don't choose to get ugly, particularly not here, but to each their own. I assure you, I was conveying my opinion on cause and effect. I wasn't trying to get ugly. You'd know it if I was. And also, you'll have to be a whole hell of a lot more offensive first. _____________________

Pep keeps trying to paint me as condoning her statements because I'm far more interested in examining what provoked them in the first place. And what he's doing with them since. _____________________

You always give a very thoughtful explanation, Treasure. On this thought.....
With ALL that said (yes this was long and tedious, no?) I cannot be judging someone from postings on an internet forum. . I WILL judge on his postings. Because they have hurt people that I care about.....yourself included, unless I assumed too much, and his comments did not hurt you....but I know without assuming that they have hurt others. They have hurt me. Enough times to warrant a judgment, and enough times to want it to stop, once and for all. |

That's because he's at a complete loss with it, as his series of posts above demonstrate. He even tried to change the issue away from his wrongdoing and onto the content of the outburst, but he failed, of course. Of course! ![]() _____________________

Clover is Rhonda's pet. Pep (It seemed an appropriate substitution.) Let's also note that he continued doing this after he found out that Clover was going through her own cancer scare. _____________________

What a badass You are cracking me up. It's almost as funny as that photo with the caption about moods growing bleak, worlds growing darker, and how the attitude will be taken out on the world. Funny, funny stuff. Why would I want to be offensive? On one hand, I am glad the Undying is being spared this as it needs a break, and feel sorry for the rest of the forum. _____________________

What a badass Not at all. I'm simply saying that that there's a difference between what I posted to you and when I want to get under someone's skin. You are cracking me up. I'm starting to see *why* you defend Pep though. _____________________

Pretty insensitive of Rhonda to post that sort of thing when her own pet was worried about it, don't you think? Pep (Check the timings, dear.) LOL @ the attempted deflection. _____________________

Yup, you've got me wired. Maybe one day, instead, I can live to argue with Pep year after year, page after page and drive everyone else demented. What fun. You bet I think people that take themselves way too seriously, and believe their own publicity are very funny indeed. For a bit anyhow. Then it just gets boring. The ONLY reason I have bothered with this thread at all was that there were some specific issues pertaining to me, and some mistaken assumptions. If that makes me a douchebag, whoopdy. I consider the source. _____________________

This one is interesting, as it corresponds somewhat with what I've sometimes seen referred to as a "voodoo doll" attack, in which an apparently "harmless" object, animation, or script is used to trigger an unwanted animation. It's frightening, that in this case, the effects seemed to linger: was the animation retriggered even after relogging? And dare I ask what the "embarrassing" animation was? As long as the HUG attachment is not detatched, or the script in it reset manually, then the animation is persistent. (I think it was one of those clumsily done sexual position ones.) The same sort of griefing can result if a hidden object is left rezd - the effect does not extend outside of the sim the object is rezd in. In the case of the HUG attachment it travels with the wearer - every time this person met the griefer, in any sim, she was thrown into the unwanted animation as the "permission to animate" remained active. _____________________

This is really useful, Deira; thanks. But the HUG attachment was being worn by the "victim," not the griefer? So SHE could have removed it, and negated the effects? _____________________

Ironic that you are talking about me and not Pep. The ONLY reason I have bothered with this thread at all was that there were some specific issues pertaining to me, and some mistaken assumptions. If that makes me a douchebag, whoopdy. I consider the source. No, defending Pep's douchebaggery makes you a douchebag. See, no outburst, no pissy fit retaliation tantrum ![]() Yes, I see. _____________________

It works because scripts retain permission to animate you until the script is told to release the permission, it gets reset or the script gets permission to animate someone else (scripts can only hold permissions for one avatar at a time, which is why dance balls have lots of scripts in -- one for each possible dancer). The only surefire defence against this form of griefing I know of is to use Emerald, which has options to revoke permissions yourself, without reference to the script, and to refuse to be animated by particular animations. Since, though, Emerald works most of its magic by exposing stuff that's in the viewer anyway, is there maybe something hidden in the advance menu or debug settings that would have the same effect? This is really informative! Thanks! I'll have to check the Advanced menu to see if there is anything like this there; perhaps, as you say, in the debug settings. A simple "Stop All Animations," like the one in the viewer, or as an attachment, wouldn't work? _____________________
