FOX News is gonna RUIN SL with this video!

Oh brother.

Targeting SL is really just another example of the media sensationalizing. Sorry Fox...but kids can access a hell of a lot more via the web, much more easily then getting an SL account and going into a cyber world and snooping around for all the smut. There are so many sick web sites, readily available, that one only has to type in a key word in google and find what ever perversions they want.

I don't have kids so I'm not going to even pretend to relate to the parents out there. But, I do have a 15yo nephew with a myspace account and I did make it a point to tell my brother to keep an eye on that sh** because there's a hell of lot more chance of my nephew becoming a target thru myspace.....then there is of him getting into SL.

There's always gonna be things out there in the big bad world that children need to be protected from. Goes without saying. But having been a kid.....and having found my own way to get access to all kinds of 'adult material' even before the internet.... I also know that a lot of kids out there....if they find such things in SL.....will probably be able to draw their own conclusions about what's right and wrong. But hey.... may as well keep em out of SL and let em play Grand Theft Auto to their hearts content. I seriously doubt Fox is gonna damage SL...... the folks who react to that kind of sensationalism wouldn't be the same kind of folks who'd venture into SL in the first place. And the rest....well....curiosity might just get the better of em and SL might see a huge boom in new accounts cause people are running to their PC's to see wtf SL is all about. *shrug*

Kids shouldn't be in SL......parents should be aware of what their kids do on the web.... and that congressman is probably a bigger perv than all of us combined.

All I know are kids today are spoiled.

I had to hide playboys under my bed and sneak off to a friend's house when their parents were not home to watch a X rated video.

My mom always looked under my bed..thats how she found my diary and my cigarettes..god i was a bad kid..still am..but i STILL say, LL needs a chance to tell about the good side of SL, or someone needs to, there are so many good things, beautiful builds, good ppl, that far outweigh the "dark side", as the newscaster called it..anyway, like I say, Come to the Darkside, we have cookies.

You will not find the "Rape Rooms" by using the keywords "rape room". Think like a Fox reporter, or a Bush legal advisor. Try the keywords "Enhanced Date Suite".

Exactly, I can hardly even get self-proclaimed "nerds" to join SL as it is...and 1/2 of 'em (the ones I know) play WoW City of Heroes or other MMORPGs.

Junk publicity like this will bring in the exact kinda ppl the congressman says he's "worried" about, instead of folks w/ common sense, thanks a lot bird brain. This is why I don't watch TV. That reminds me, time for my psych meds.

I can't get the video to run, but I assume there are at least six exploding vans, several mentions of terrorists and words like "Death", "Kill", "Die" highlighted and frequent attempts to blame Linden Labs for parents being unable to proper monitor their children on the internet - blaming society for their own failings as parents.
